The speedhook is great for getting your kids fishing. Little ones have a hard time setting the hook at first. The speed hook works great for that.

What the 'military' light lacks is a pouch to help prevent losing all the bits.

The Iris for the light is to minimize possible detection by allowing the least possible light for the task. I had one that used glow sticks, works pretty well. The colors are minimal detection as well. Red light is least visible from a distance with white being most visible. Other colors help with map reading, making symbols and marks contrast more starkly allowing for less needed light.

Those lazer bright lights are in fact issued to the military, on the channel docp81b he reviewed this box and said he was issued an older version of it. Also I believe it has an NSN number, which is nato stock number. NSN numbers are only on official military equipment.

The black piece is not used for signalling ,it’s used so you don’t have a massive light beam giving away your position it focuses a smaller beam for map reading

I’ll put it to you this way, I was never issued that light, but I’ve been out for 7 years now. So it’s possible they are standard issue now, but weren’t back then.

The chicken pesto pasta MRE was my favorite In the field. This one looks like actual food. For the led light I was never issued that but they might have sold it at clothing and sales. The only usable light in a tactical environment is red and rarely green.

That light stick thing is definitely not issued to the Military at least not in the Army as far as 2009. Idk about now but I doubt it since they still use the right angle style light. Actually there are some videos on youtube about the gear people are issued recently.

Thanks for a great review. Think I will pass on these boxes. The tie down is replaceable by learning how to tie a truckers hitch. The food was ok, but not something I need. The lights were again ok, but not likely something I would need. If I wanted any of the things, I would be better off buying them directly. Again, thanks for your good work.

Battle Box is running into what I always wondered about, how to continually deliver interesting items at good cost over the long term. I would say 440C is better than "it's okay - not the best"... 420 fits that label better. It's "maybe not the best, but very good steel". The original Buck 110s used it - today, ESEE uses it for their lifetime warrantee stainless knives.

BattlBox subscriptions are a scam. This channel did well in the review. He's a good guy and does well. This "BattlBox" subscription however is a major scam. Imagine paying a stupid amount of money monthly to get everything for twice the price, and half of what is sent doesn't fall into the supposed scenario for a "BattlBox" so these things are so random and dumb.

@@Eidolon1andOnly a scam is someone directly and knowingly trying to fraud you, they will usually see the opportunity to run off with your money. Battlebox is a subscription business model that has become popular lately. Because it is random it may not be to your liking, but they are genuine products. From what I can see some are more expensive some are cheaper. Scams inherently are synonymous with being illegal. This isn't illegal it may not be your thing and you may see it is a rip off, but the customer knows what they are getting as a service (the surprise is the feature) and you can stop any time. Personally I don't like the subscription model, and I had one before, I asked for a refund and they gave my outstsnding amount back to me.
