I saw this movie at a drive in theater in 1963 when I was 9 years old. It played right along side a Japanese produced movie, "Mothra". The musical score repeated itself in my memory for many years after. At the time I didn't comprehend the plot or progression of the story and later on could not remember the title. The music is how I identify it. At the time I noticed that the lips of the actors didn't sinc well with the words, but I figured it was just a technical problem, not that they were actually speaking Russian. I also remember my mom laughing about "The monster with a big eyeball on the end of it's tongue."

@@daniellafferety4025 Nova and Dragon were not necessary, since Moon landings were just day or two long camping trips. No reason to keep doing them because space medicine had not yet proved humans could thrive in low gravity longer than two weeks. This is exactly the fear in 1962 of those that wanted EOR by building a space station first, then a TLI flight from there. Their fear of the Apollo style missions is that it couldn't support infrastructure on the Moon, since it was stripped down to a mylar and aluminum tent called the LM.

Several cast members resembled Leonid Brezhnev IMO. Those Russians were sure tough space walking without pressure suits. Although they seemed to like recling in their space ships a lot. Mission control reminded me of Chernobyl's control room. One can only imagine what Francis Ford Coppola was thinking when was tasked with butchering the orginal Russian movie.
