Idk, Hop was a great rival imo. He's such a well written character, someone who wants to prove himself to be as worthy as his brother was, only to realise he isn't cut out for battling like others are. He tries so hard out of fear of not being worthy to his whole family who look up to Leon greatly as a hero of the family. But he learns he just needs to do something he truly enjoys and not live in his brothers shadow. He was such a good rival with a deep motivation and strive to be greater.@@Un.knowns

Nemona, at her core, is very simple. She enjoys Pokemon battles a lot and that's nothing new for characters in the Pokemon world. I can fully understand both those things but I still very much enjoy her as a character. Her love of battles seems very elevated especially given how reveered she is in the region for her prowess at. Nemona just wants a fun, all out battle with someone that matches and could even beat her at the top so she doesn't get Saitama Syndrome and I can respect that.

Nemona's regular theme is underrated, which is where her champion theme comes from too. Her regular theme is more slow paced, yet still exciting, it feels like a training session. Here, the theme is faster, because now she can go full power on you.

Up until this point, nobody was able to top her and she was afraid she would fizzle out. Nemona is the Ash of Paldea and the VA captures that perfectly. I know your scripts have to go of the game and for that reason I'm impressed with S/V because listening to her post-battle felt like something out of the anime than from games previous. Nemona has to be number 2 on my favorite rivals list. I like her energetic personality, all she yearns for is an all-out battle with someone who has the strength to defeat her when giving everything she has. I enjoy her story that you learn through the post game, she felt that, just like the lyrics say "feared I'd burned too brightly and fizzled out too fast" and "toiled and toiled so on my merit I'd be great, though it was lonely up there." She was sad because she was unable to find someone who matched her until the protagonist came around. Amazing character and amazing backstory.

Nemona is easily one of my favorite rivals, her entire situation of “it’s lonely at the top, great to have you here” resonates with a lot of people. 3:40-3:50 Ya know, looking at how Nemona holds the Pokeball reminds me of ow it is in the Adventures manga. Hell, makes it look even smaller compared to the anime, since a sizel ike that is usually the ball minimized while a full sized one is the size of your hand. That, or she's just got big hands. lol Gotta say, tho, this is really well done. Loved the voicing and everything. I’m going to come out and say it Scarlet and Violet are the best games of the main series since Black and White (yes despite its glitches the release schedule needs a drastic slowdown). Every one of the main paths central characters are charming and full of a spark I haven’t seen out of pokemon in years. Nemona is one of the best rivals period, love the whole of team star, and Arven’s story with Mabostiff is one I heavily relate to losing my dog last year three months before the release. Even the teachers are fun with their own quirks.

Damn, the choice to play "A New Champion is Born" was perfect to open this video. It's like having Nemona say "You've grown just as strong as me, but you don't have my undying drive for it" which explains why it's slower than both Nemona's themes but has a similar melody.
