I like how they put effort into animating the sprites of the party members. Giving them attack and damage animations really is nice to the eyes.

Wally gained a huge upgrade. It was always kinda odd that an individual person would be a regular enemy. Having him be a full fledged miniboss not only made more sense but gives him an opportunity to make a larger impression on the player.

(I know this is an old comment, sorry) In Japanese he wasn't really an individual, he was just effectively called "some guy" and was similar to like, the Bad Lady or Hippie kinda enemies, etc

I like that you took the effort to make some of the former normal enemies (like the Stray Dog, Wally, and PsuedoZombie) in Earthbound Beginning be fought in the equivalent areas they are encountered in the Remake. It's a nice touch.

The PsudeoZombie in the original game was more scary because he is able to pose as a completely normal person, thus can geninuely catch you off guard. The new one still resembles a Zombie even in the overworld, with a disguise that can only fool the uninitated, scarificing a genuine jumpscare for some quirky humor. Still, I like both approaches.

Dude, Rising Star is so good. In general it's better that there's more variety to the music. Maybe the Wally fight theme suits him better in the OG (as much as I love the New Age Retro Hippie rocking music), but everything else I think is great in Encore.

@@kamikeserpentail3778 The best thing is the different themes for some towns. Bein' Friends has been engraved into my brain and almost drove me crazy at one point in my playthrough. Ellay and Spookane sound fantastic.

Starman Jr. received a similar upgrade to Wally. Though I think he could have had a few buffing PK abilities to give him more bite instead of relying on attacking and PK Beam alone

I think Ness' HP and PP are far to high at the start of the game, you just rush through the polltergeist part at the start, and my brain cannot process what is happening here, and it makes me feel dizzy. I liked how the original made the fights at the beginning go slow and get you used to the battle mechanics. The battles in the remake just go far too fast.

From what I can understand, MOTHER: ENCORE is a fan-remake of EarthBound Zero (aka MOTHER 1) meant to be more similar in both the style and gameplay of the latter two entries in the series (with the graphics being pretty similar to MOTHER 3).

As for playability, it's so far only available as a demo. Though it seems the team seems more reliable than the MOTHER 4 (now Oddity) team.
