Im here because of impact theory. That interview you had with Tom blew me away, this one I'm still reeling from. I was raised in the foster system beaten then prison and broken I was for 20+ years. In just 2 conversations you were able to shed light on places that I didn't even know I had. I am grateful for you and the life you lead and I promise you my wife will be grateful to the person you just gave me permission to be. God bless you brother

@@MikeBarron1 Old stereotypes that justified the female exclusion from professions have largely been eradicated and censored and yet male caricatures are celebrated. Its largely because they exclude men from the home. It is easier to chastise the male "power structure" whilst little is said of the "female domain." This consists of female access to "parenting" and control of "(domestic) decisions" as a means to wholeness and fulfilment. Women claim they want access to male space but remain dedicated to their tacit agreement and strategic silence in isolating men from this sacred territory. At the mercy of public opinion men are property. He must be exposed and she forbidden. Key to pushing men out of the home is DV. Domestic violence is initiated against men whilst sleeping, inattentive or at the mercy of the weapon, yet these explanations still fail to recognise a larger issue of framing. Even if there is no monopoly on abuse, domestic violence only empahsises the male physical tools whilst diverting from the psychological tools of women. Men may get the shorter end of the stick but still they are told to suck it up and keep quiet because they are violent and aggressive. Sadly these concepts of violence fail to account for power as explored by Bertrand Russell and Thomas Wartenberg. Unable to identify force, we fail to see women. Even if we accept the idea men are physically aggressive this still disguises the fact men are encouraged and expected to exprrss rage, fury and anger. Anger however is a secondary emotion whilst the primary ones are thise self respecting men cannot express: sadness, insecurity, isolation, shame, hurt. Men are more comfortable lashing out then communicating clearly. Anything other is branded as "sissy", "wimpish" "cowardly" or "unmanly." All of these are the equivalent of being a "rapist" "predator" or "paedophile", which, it is claimed men default to when they forfeit on their duties. Men are not just denied access to children but to expression. His inner world world of anguish and torment buried by distortion. "On Being A Man" betrays our pretence of 'strength.' Men do not have all the muscle. We have lots of the muscle but women have some too and we must both go downstairs in partnership because i am not disposable. We fail to deal with this because we are disregarded and rendered invisible. Unless we demonstrate we are insignificant so our being is equated with doing. We cease to exist in and of ourselves and are onky validated through conquest and acquisition. We are programmed to sacrifice and surrender to women and the kabour market. We must prove we are not sick and prove we are significant. We are wayched constantly to ensure to perifrm this duty whiks surveillance ensures this male machine functions correctly, meaning, accordingly. Patirarchy is presented as a vast global cabal of males oppressimf women. Male influence in the family has been branded as negative "because we know how men are." Being politicised it js no longee patriarchy but "the patriarchy." It is a mattwr of fashion. We are no longer cool. Men are not in fashion hence there are no more positive portrayals of us. We sre supposed to be resgined and hold our heads in shame as we succumb and bow to female dominance. Its a ploy to further perpetuate ourn diffidence and resultant servitude. Females see men as obliged to protect and serve them hilst also provisioning. Meanwhile females are held to mo such standard. Its extortion. Its a racket. A con a hustle a lie. It has been the illusion guarding the illusion. Men are terrified of labels. These ideas are used to domesticate and direct them. Men are ruled by this process of discipline kept in place by secret systems of symbols, signals, moods and messages. Far from being tamed by men women train men. We do the dirty work. Through false virtues and slave morals men are tricked into acquiescence and duped into submission. They believe it to be right and honourable despite the deep pain it causes. Maybe Naomi Wolf should have wrote about this; the Myth of Male Power.

This was such a powerful interview. I'm a single mom who has raised two men. It was hard being everything to them. I also have had trauma in my own past and was always told to not express my feelings so that is also how I've raised my children, unfortunately. Anger has always been my "go to" response rather than showing vulnerability. I need apply the 4 R's to my life. I will also share this podcast with my sons and I will also purchase Mr. Wilson's book. WHOA!!!!!! what a deep interview! As a single mother and recovering from my own daddy issues, this one hit deep! Its given me clarity about my own stuff and empathy towards my daughters father. I literally just had her call him and tell him that she loves him and appreciates him walking her to school in the am's. He's had a streak of unfortunate luck with work and as a result falls in and out of depression which then makes him "stay away" to deal. I appreciate this! Thank you 🙌🏽 please keep this conversation going, let's normalize it 🙏🏼

I'm 52, and one big factor that can limit our potential or deny us our true self, directly affecting our self-esteem and influencing our belief system, and that is our identity. If you have this figured out and in your favor then you might be okay and doing well. The other thing that really helped me feel grounded and feeling like my true self is mindfulness. I still haven't fully tried meditation, but many people swear that it makes all the difference. The other game-changer is your sleep schedule and diet. If you want to stay healthy, get good sleep, and no meals after 8pm or so. Just water till the next day, less sugar and saturated fats. What I like about being mindful is you will detect flaws in your being and thinking while doing it. I am now more sensitive to where and what I give my attention to, and the meaning I give to moments, incidents and distractions. I value my awareness and today I can say that I am emotionally unleashed to being productive at will without the need to push my way through discomfort and unwantedness. This is the edge that I needed to responsibly take on more business. Feels great.

I agree100%. But we run from tough emotions just like he said, when people feel the resurfacing of buried hurtful emotions they instantly habitually redirect to something easier to deal with. It’s scary and it hurts to face the old demons. So it’s not going to be ‘popular’ because it’s REAL! Society loves new distractions and trendy people are hurt people, because they hide the hurt with anything they can. I wish this message would become more mainstream over the garbage in the media. It went ‘viral’ bc people can easily connect with that kid, wishing they had that, but looking deeper and working on yourself is a whole other beast that most people find every excuse to always avoid. The ‘emotional incarceration’ is REAL as he calls it. We all need to help find ways to break people out of that life sentence.🙏

I clung to every word that came out of this man; Jason Wilson's mouth. His presence in the room was soothing. He reminded me of Solomon in the Holy Bible as he oozed wisdom and confidence. He seemed to wrap loving arms around all boys and men who hurt, giving licence to acknowledge their vulnerabilities. I'm sure "Battle Cry" will be a compelling read. This reminds me of a Bill Burr bit where he says, and i’m paraphrasing; “Men die of stress and earlier than women because we are not allowed to admit that a puppy is cute” As i understand it is that we as men aren’t allowed or at least is judged by the majority, if we show human emotions. Or as some percieve it as feminine behavior. Which in the end results in bottling up a lot of different emotions, not just reacting to a cute baby animal. And we end up snapping at our surroundings or worse, rot from the inside. This is a great episode and he must be protected at all times. Also props to comedians for lowkey speaking truth about society.
