This was a 6BirdStudio group project initially conceived at AnimeExpo. It took around 7 months to complete. The idea was originally to base this on Miwa and Mechamaru's relationship/dynamic. This was a clearly one sided match up, everyone who watches the show should know Yuji and Maki are superior in terms of skill. however during their spar Mechamaru's brain and cursed technique comes in handy. His plan was initially to separate Maki and eliminate her with a huge Ultimate cannon blast so he could help Miwa fight Yuji, however when Maki comes back into the picture the fight started to turn back into Yuji and Maki's favor. So Mechamaru had one more trick up his sleeve. Separate Yuji by making him deal with his puppets long enough for him and Miwa to deal with Maki. When Mahito enters. He traps everyone in a veil. However Mechamaru being the genius he is planned for everything and prior gave Gojo a device that would sound an alarm if a veil was raised (That part would never have been understood unless you read this). So The veil shatters and Inumaki and Gojo enter the fight. Clearly Mahito was feeling silly because he decided to actually fight Gojo. Which led to his heart being deleted. And yes... we know Mahito wouldn't die from his heart being removed.

Honestly a good addition would be to reveal that this is just Mahito's clone since it kinda doesn't make sense for him to just get out in open like this just to die to Gojo + would make neat recontextualisation of scenes before it, putting no one into actual danger despite how close it was and would be in character for Mahito to bluff about his ability despite not actually being capable of it (like he did with Nobara). I partially assumed so since beginning when he wasn't spewing shit at Yuji specifically and would make sense to why he struggles with Mechamaru's standard doll, Miwa, unawakened Maki and Inamaki who didn't blow up from saying many commands at once to special grade curse. Of course we can say the usual that the animation doesn't have to follow the powerscaling and rule of cool amd all that but honestly i think it's just a good measure to not break the inner power difference that even author himself set up. Mahito even at earliest could toss around with Nanami who was Grade 1 Sorcerer. Everyone (excluding Gojo) featured in this video is below grade 1.

Never seen jjk but I'm guessing it's the normal hand that kills and not just any contact with him. That bubble effect with the main guy (Yuji?) looked like it was on a different plain of reality than the rest. In fact, it looks like it's stuck to the camera's movements and was added in post rather than being a part of the original scene. It's also a different framerate. I think DaVinci Resolve has a feature that can track vfx to screen movement. I'm certain that Adobe After Effects does. Still really really good and a reminder that I need to watch jjk.
