My mate's a German. He's 75 years old and lived in this country since he was 7. In the 30 odd years I've known him, he has always driven his car with a German flag sticking out of one window and an English flag out of the other window. He also has both flags on large flagpoles in his garden. The council recently called on him and ordered him to take the English flag down and told him he could leave the German one up. I said, "so what did you say to them?" He replied, "I told them, the English may have beat us in world wars 1 and 2 but they won't beat this German if they want to start world war 3 with me." When I was born, the war was not long behind us and there was everything to play for. House building was on the go, repairing and replacing after the Blitz. Job prospects were improving and technologies back then were improving our prospects. Sadly now after so many governments have failed us and there are more treasonous baskets in government than you can shake a stick at.
