Well what do you expect, a while back Honda was losing money from lack of sales because they couldn't match other car companies with their low priced "super" cars. Thus the invention of VTEC to keep Honda's low car prices and have a car powerful enough to keep up with other high end cars that have nearly twice their power. It's also simply the cliche statement "It's not what you drive, it's how you drive."

Also factor in the cost of crashing a car, Sure, the Civic isn't cheap either, but the GTR is one hell of a thing to crash.
@sermerlin110 жыл бұрын
***** That's not factor at all... The guy was simply cruising... If i had expensive fast car i would pedal it... If you have fast expensive car and not using it then you can surely sell it because you're just wasting good tech.
@Tobberobbe9710 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't dare to use a GTR purchased with my own money on the Nordschleife the same way the Civic owner did, just saying. Your opinion is valid, but its still a reason to play it safe.
@sermerlin110 жыл бұрын
***** but why wouldn't you...? GTR isn't meant to be garaged or driven slowly. It's GTR for a reason. If you don't feel comfortable with a chance of wrecking a fast and expensive car you shouldn't really even purchase one then. If you don't feel comfortable going fast you shouldn't go fast. You know speed is not for everyone. I for example love to go fast and i just love the sound of the engine when i floor it and i feel very comfortable driving fast... Heck i don't feel comfortable driving slow lmao... It's all for preference. No one is forcing anyone to purchase fast and expensive cars but if they're purchased they should be driven within it's full potential and not garaged or used as status symbol by going to the grocery store with it and bragging how successful you are at your job... :)
@Tobberobbe9710 жыл бұрын

@wicca58410 жыл бұрын
The Honda Civic type R is very powerful considering it`s a natural aspirated and for it`s 2.0 L cc, They were a claimed to have 197 bhp out of the showroom, This one has apparently 230 bhp, So it`s had a lot of power squeezed out of it, It`s front engined and front wheeled drive so it`s near at the engineering limit of that layout, Honda know this, That`s why the next upgrade is the S2000 with a more powerful mid engined setup, Rear wheel drive with LSD and aluminum panels etc, , The problem of course it`s a third more in cost from new

This Civic is proper tuned. I had a Honda Civic Coupe tuned (B engine). Good old times. For all those people making comments. Sure this Civic can keep up with a non tuned GTR. Sure the Civic tuned is still cheaper then a GTR. Then again Civics are normal road cars. Where the GTR is a super car. So Civics you can tune till a certain limit. You can tune a GTR as well, and because a Stock GTR performs better then a stock Civic, this means you can tune a GTR better then a Civic. Heck there are Skyline R34's that are highly tuned that outrun Bugatti Veyrons, but they are still cheaper highly tuned then price of a Bugatti. This is just similar. You take a stock super car vs a highly tuned Civic. Now let's do it fair: Highly tuned GTR vs Highly tuned Civic. Then the Civic will not be able to keep up.
@mrmason942010 жыл бұрын

@derekmark384711 жыл бұрын
A whole lot of cars arent a joke. Asking a question and telling someone they have no clue in the same sentence highlights a certain level of idiot. A Civic EP3 that is tuned well is NOT A JOKE, a well juned Corvette (though none of the owners can actually drive, much like GTR owners) A Delta HF Integrale, is not a joke. A Miata that is tuned for the track is not a joke, A McLaren MP4-12C is not a joke, a GTR that is tuned correctly, has a capable driver, smaller wheels and tires, most of the weight stripped out and a cage is not a joke, a stock one driven by a rich cunt (all of them essentially) is. I drive a honda civic, when I have one of these lurching around a corner slowly to catch me in only the straightaway, isnt that embarressing for the GTR?
