This is what we need: A ww2 game campaign that let's you play as the axis for once. Edit: Seeing the comment section after two years. Dayum. I didn't want to start a war there 😅 What I meant was that gaming companies who make those types of games should always portray both sides. Yes the axis did some horrible things but so did the allies. What I meant however is to give us the perspective of, let's say, a German soldier who's motivated to go to war and in the end thinks about everything he saw. If it was worth it even. Some movies do that like Letters of Iwo Jima, or Stalingrad (which I highly recommend btw). All in all, war is bad. There are no victors. And I give my respect to those poor soldiers and civilians who had (and still have to) suffer.

That's due to conditioning and being told every day that being a deserter makes you dead. They'd rather die then give up as they won't have a home to return to; that's what was alluded in a lot of the propaganda. It also did not help that the SS arm of the government was absolutely psychopathic and went well above and beyond "Cruel and Usual" for everything they did. Sun Tsu has a lot to say about that, something that ol' Adolf never read between his hundred-thousand showers. You torment your foe, not your army as that inspires insipidness.

Playing as the Germans in the final days of WW2 gave new perspective and is very refreshing in the oversaturated WW2 genre market. Though we have yet to have a game that we play as the Japanese or the Chinese in WW2, heck even as a Indian soldier fighting for the British. We have so many possibilities for a new story perspectives from WW2 yet we keep doing the cliché Allies good Axis bad, European - Pacific theaters and not focus on a individual story. BFV does explore some of the less known theaters and individual perspective of WW2 but I think we can do even better.

A Japanese POV would be ideal for a single-player game for an air combat game. It would make sense for the missions to be getting more and more difficult (as although the Japanese did develop some very nice fighters towards the end of the war like the Ki-84, they were still falling further and further behind)... and also since the habit of wargames of sending the player character into missions with seemingly suicidal odds could be remarked upon and integrated into the story, since that's exactly what the Japanese commanders did with their best pilots.

This mission, right in the feels with how accurate the vibe is depicted for the Wehrmacht. These young recruits completely indoctrinated with the endsieg ideal while the veterans of the Wehrmacht knew it was mostly a lost cause while SS roamed the streets, stringing up soldiers. Also I'm aware these are way too many battles to include them in one game. One could also add bonus missions, such as: -Diedrich Lilienthal, in 1943 he managed to destroy seven tanks and two AT guns as well as stop an entire Soviet advance before dying due to his wounds in a field hospital -In 1945 Erwin Bachmann managed to destroy one M4 Sherman with a Panzerfaust as well as directing two PzKpfw V Panther tanks into the town of Herrlisheim (France). Bachmann managed to liberate 20 German POWs, take more than 60 American prisoners as well as destroy nine Shermans (with the Panthers) and capture twelve fully armed and fueled Shermans. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmeuYaGZidB0oaM Check 4:46 -Tiger 131's last stand 1943 in Africa against the British -1943, Battle of Kursk, Franz Staudegger and his Tiger managed to survive while fighting against 50 T-34s. Staudegger previously had destroyed two parked T-34s by tossing grenades through open hatches. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qn6niIp8gLaagrM -Battle for Castle Itter, I guess many of you know it, German soldiers teaming up with the Americans and French to take the Castle Itter from an SS-unit Please tell me what you think!

It was the episode that I liked and touched the most for me. Personally, I think If this episode was a true or based on a true story, Muller is a front-line military leader with a great human heart. The game reflects the idea of Muller from the very beginning, a soldier who obeys his duties and orders with the belief of strictly defending his homeland even in the late stages of the war, hearing news of the retreat of the German army in many battlefields that are increasing and even though he began to realize that the way to win the war was impossible also while the morale of the troops themselves was gradually deteriorating to the point where there was one of his crew tanks leaved and make their performance in battle with stronghold tanks and their last line of defense deteriorated. Including the fact that he had to risk his life when he had to leave their turrets and strong maneuvering shields to ambush the enemy with his own hands, he was no different from just an ordinary infantryman or a civil without the arm that is ready to be the victim of all sorts of bullets every second. In the last, receiving his final order to retreat to the defense, Mueller's heart is begun to call for his true humanity. When he saw that in the place where he was summoned, there were no forces waiting for him as in the propaganda but There was only destruction, sorrow, hatred. From his fellow countrymen who lost their loved ones to the destruction and forced to fight. which is not even His tank crew that had escaped until the very end, even himself his best friend, and the mighty Tiger 237 they believed in, was abandoned by a bridge bomb to stall it, and Kerz, who abandoned the tank and was killed by an allied bullet from the young Shroder, where he was. who taught him strength from the beginning which has now become just the last frenzied machine from which it has been programmed, so that making him decide on the side of humanity and friendship. "A true soldier never leaves his fellow soldiers" "War has neither side won nor lost, no good people or bad people. But only the losers"

This war story really gave me a whole new perspective on the German side of things. It showed to me that in war, there is no good and bad side, no pure or evil. It showed that soldiers from all sides still experience emotion and heartache, and how they can be constantly faced with ethical and moral choices that will stick by them for the rest of their lives. Overall, this war story really lives up to itself, and makes me wish that more ww2 genera games adopt the idea of playing from axis or otherwise non allied perspectives

This story has made me emotional and made me ride a rollercoaster of emotions. It has brought me to my tears, and have made a waterfall for my eyes. The Commander, Muller, was such a good actor. It made me felt I was in the real scenery. It feot so cinematic and emotional, seeing that the real traitor was the one who shot Kertz, Peter, and Muller. This German perspective made me remember that we are just human. We are humans who fight for the corrupt government, and the corrupt government fight each other, for land and wealth. How about their sympathy for their own people? This.. This specific stiry made me wonder that. Remembering how tragic and horrifying WW2 was, it was truly... A bad moment. Everyone was dying. Every innocent who did not do ANYTHING, was killed. Only to be set in a grave.. Buried down deep.. But my respect for all the soldiers who have fought for their country will always be high. Exceot those who have done inhumane activities. Some people were forced to fight.. Because, the low ranking never had the power to gather together to stop the High ranking people.. Like some people like.. A.H This world is still not in peace.. There are wars everywhere, and it is still to be stopped. The government still is corrupt today. And we have nothing to do, but sit in our home, watch tv, check the news, spread awareness of the war.. It is truly terrible. I hope the people in war, or was in war, will have all the peace and love they deserve. Gott Mit Uns!

That quote at the beggining is something many times omitted from history, by the end in all fronts Germans were retreating not by straight defeat but lack of ammunition.
