+Rae Lei-I do love how Peanut, once he realized his "mom" was ignoring him, went to the next person in the room and demanded he get attention in some way. And he got super confused when both of them were ignoring them. Like dang it, I'm cute and I know, why you not giving me love? I don't think Peanut was a bad dog at all. Just a spoiled one. He knew how to turn the charm on and he knew what he had to do to get what he wanted. So when they shut down and showed that his behavior wasn't going to be tolerated anymore, he was quick to figure it out, okay, so this is not okay for me to do. I get much more praise and love if I listen to them. Because he did really love his owners very much and was a very friendly dog. Once he figured out that when he was quiet, Victoria was willing to play with him, he was very happy that she was playing with him. It really was just a simple correction on his behavior and letting him know gently that what he was doing wasn't acceptable and he was willing and happy to make it better.

+Boots-Yeah, that's the strut of a very confident dog. A dog's "I'm awesome and I know it" walk. To be fair, Peanut was really not that bad of a dog. He was actually very sweet. Just spoiled and he knew it. And with a dog as precious and cute and heartmelting as he is, you drip like a puddle. It's easy to see how and why he got spoiled. He wasn't mean or vicious, and given how he was willing to play with Victoria, very, very sweet, he just was very bossy and demanding. And he absolutely knew how to get what he wanted. He was a very smart dog and he took to the training like a champ. He just needed a clearer sense of boundaries and understanding his behavior wasn't acceptable or tolerated. And he got the point fairly quick.

No people just think it doesn’t need training because its small
@sabineb.56164 жыл бұрын
Nope, that is not necessarily true. But they need to get educated just like bigger dogs and a lot of small dog owners don't do this. What's probably true, though: small dog breeds may over time have developed a more assertive behavior because the little dogs needed to compensate for their small size. If this goes unchecked, they may develop the so-called "small-dog syndrome". Also, for ages they have been kept mainly as companion dogs and not for work. Therefore they might be more prone to develop separation anxiety. But all this can be controlled with the correct training. When I got my "Pomchi" (Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix), when she was 12 weeks old, the very first thing I did, was to train her to be alone for a while. Since I started immediately, it wasn't even very difficult. I just left her alone in a puppy-proof space with her open crate and some water for just a few minutes at first, and then I came back in order to show her that it's alright and that I would always come back to her. I also gave her a verbal command every time I left. She understood very quickly that I would always come back sooner or later. She only cried for one or two minutes and then settled down in her open crate. At the end of the first day at home she had understood that nothing terrible would happen to her if she had to be alone for a while. This was really a crash course. But it was necessary since I got her one week before Christmas, and I had many errants to run. The original plan had been to take her home after Christmas and New Year. This didn't work out for several reasons - and in hindsight everything was for the best because she learned to cope with so many different situations and different people. I have to admit, though, that I am lucky and she has a very laid back personality.

You can tell the big dog is her husband’s dog because he is chilled out like him. When you are calm and relaxed and strict they will be more relaxed and calm dogs. She’s more emotional and so she has a hard time saying no to her dogs cute face.

It's really not. Imagine if a big dog like a German Shepherd had such an insecure attachment to their owner. You'd be scared if a dog like that snapped at your pant leg and jumped on you as you tried to leave. Small dogs get away with a lot of bad behavior that big dogs wouldn't because they don't seem as physically threatening, and this just reinforces in their brain that it's okay for them to do those things. A misbehaved dog is NEVER a good thing.

Poms are very smart, perceptive doggos. Once they understand they can take advantage of a situation, they surely won't easily stop doing it. A tip I have is if you want a friendly Rottweiler it’s a good thing to take you Rottweiler on walks and let you Rottweiler meet new people. Also your rottie has to have a daily run around the yard or around the block. But before you start training it’s good to teach your Rottweiler how to respond to their name and they have to know that your the alpha (the boss).I hope I helped you out !!
