This episode gets into the details of the first day of the Battle of Ramadi. April 6th, 2004 was a day that would live on in infamy for the Second Battalion Fourth Marines. It started mid-morning with Golf Company, 3rd platoon's 3rd squad, then it enveloped the 1st squad. Joe Hayes and his Marines were in a tough fight that day, slugging it out with the MUJ. 11 Marines against an estimated 60+ mujahideen. This was Golf Company's toughest day since Viet Nam.

My story is true: I was a young man and I loved playing football very much, and my dream was to become a football player in the future in a famous team in my country because I was a good player. In the year 2003, the war began against Iraq, against the Iraqi government, and against the Iraqi people. I used to hear the sound of an explosion in... All the time in Baghdad and life really stopped and I could not leave the house to see my friends or play football with them because of the massive missile bombardment on the city of Baghdad. After a short period of time, American forces entered Iraq and battles took place everywhere and citizens were displaced from their homes because of the war and it stopped. Life for a year since the war from 2003 to 2004, and then I decided to leave my hobby and look for work. In fact, in late 2004, I filled out an application form for appointment to the new Iraqi army, which was under the supervision of the American army, and then I underwent training for 3 months at the Kirkush base in the city of Diyala, after which I completed the training period and was completed. I was transferred to IED Ramadi and became an Iraqi combat soldier. I went out with the American forces from the American army and with the Marines in the city of Ramadi, fighting enemies and armed terrorist groups in Ramadi. On September 29, 2005, I was on duty or a mission in the Al-Tamim neighborhood in the city of Ramadi with a faction of the army. The American and the officer in charge of me from the American Army ordered me to go up to the bridge and take barbed wire to cut off both ends so that vehicles or people would not walk on the bridge or advance towards our location. He did not tell me that there was an explosive bomb on the bridge and about half an hour before the device exploded. The cut was successful, and on my way back towards the location of the company, I was attacked by the enemies, and there was a heavy exchange of fire from the terrorists. The device was detonated while I was on the bridge. I was very severely injured on the Tamim Bridge in the city of Ramadi, and after an hour or more, I was evacuated from the bridge to Company headquarters, and I was treated by American soldiers, and then I was transferred to the hospital in the US Army IED, and then I was transferred by plane from Ramadi to Baghdad, Ibn Sina Hospital in the Green Zone. I endured a lot of pain and pain for hours, days, and long years, and I performed many surgical operations at my own expense. I am now disabled and 40 years old, and I do not have rights or compensation for my injury.
