New Ioniq 6 SE long range owner. Frunk - the RWD model in Europe and Asia has a large frunk. In the US trunks over a certain size have to have an internal release in case someone gets trapped inside. Ugh! And charging from 30 to almost 300 miles in 18 minutes makes roadtrips (at least up and down the west coast) viable! And at a certain angle from the back - more Porsche 911 than Magic Mouse! 😁

Speaking as a family hauler. We need 6 to 7 seaters for various reasons, one being age gaps, two kids above 6 and under 10 and one kid in a car seat makes sedans really cramped. We need space for 1 to 2 car seats. And maybe a non carseat riders behind the front seats. I can fit my two kids and a carseat kid in the back of the m3lr. But they hate it. And just for short rides. Eyeing that ev9 or Ioniq9. Rivian wants a mortgage note and Gravity wants insurance fraud money.

Yea I can’t wait for the EV industry to have way more great lower priced vechiles, only somewhat good EVS for a low price are used model 3’s and Y’s which is not everyone wants. Lucid gravity seems like a great car just the price tag is pretty high.

The EV 9 is the one choice that is available now and can be had well below msrp. The range is good for the price for most people most of the time. It looks great and is a true 3 row vehicle. The ID buzz is also great but with less range, less availability and is more expensive.
@davidbaker980018 күн бұрын
Couple of things the gravity is first coming out in the grand touring which is what this is...the cheaper models will come later on. Also you mentioned the software...if you look at the out of spec review where they drove the car the software needs more time to bake...which is bit concerning giving their record and also the vehicle is in production.

The Lucid Gravity, with a starting price of $80K, is very reasonably priced-especially when compared to luxury SUVs like the Chevy Suburban and Cadillac Escalade. It’s well-positioned to compete in this market. Additionally, legacy automakers often present lower initial prices, but once you add in necessary configurations and upgrades, the cost can quickly rise by $20K or more. Lucid offers a transparent and competitive alternative with premium features included from the start. With all due respect to Hyundai, I wouldn’t necessarily say the EV9 is cheaper when you factor in features and performance.

Except that there is currently no gravity with starting price of $80K, only promises with on details. What you can currently order is more like $100K+ as soon as you add just a few basic options (even 3rd row as an option)

id buzz is an suv?
@darwinskeeper42121 күн бұрын
The only three row I'd consider would be the ID Buzz. I'm single, so the only reason I'd get anything larger than an Ioniq 5 or a Mach-E is for cargo space and even if the Buzz doesn't have more space than the other SUVs, it's boxy interior seems more useable for bulky items like a bike or three. Besides, the Buzz is the only three row I've seen that I actually find attractive. That said I'd probably still go for something smaller. An Ioniq 5 or a Mach-E would be good, but something smaller would be better.

We are about to have our 5th child. Our Pacifica minivan is an awesome people mover with more comfortable rear seats than most vehicles on this list. The plug-in hybrid would let us use electricity for most of our daily driving with no range anxiety, so that might be our replacement vehicle in a few years. Great for cross country. I also own a Rivian R1S, which we prefer for family day trips. We rented a Suburban once, and the Suburban has far more practical storage than the Pacifica or R1S when hauling 7 people, but it also is a monster in size.

“120cu ft of space… approaching Chevy suburban levels of cargo”. Come on man; that’s just a big load of dung. Look at the photos of the rear space behind 3rd row, easily 1/3 (if that) of the suburban. Suburban is 41.5 cu ft BEHIND THE 3rd Row. That is what defines a true cargo family carrier. None of these EVs touch that. I understand how someone who doesn’t live in a large family, daily driving excursions or Suburbans around to sports, school, and cross country road trips your view of full size cargo room is skewed when you only drive cars and your idea of a full size suv is model X or a Rivian; but I’m tired of EV promoters acting like suburban level EV vehicles exist; they flat out don’t. I certainly hope they’ll change that but gravity is not approaching suburban cargo space in the rear where it counts, no where close. R1S, X, Gravity…they’re all SUV’s, def NOT FULL SIZE SUVs

I like the Magic Mouse seriously harms your charging credibility. It's not only the worst charging design ever conceived, it's not at all ergonomic and is widely considered to be manufactured e-waste. They ship it, along with a flat keyboard only suitable for travel, as a desktop accessory. It's offensive to all rational human beings. It's ironic you point out a weird charging port location on a car then cite the Magic Mouse as being something you like., ;)

The only successful company that's making electric cars is Tesla. Legacy car companies that do it do fairly well. These other companies like lucid an rivian along with EV's in general, need to all focus on having nice cars with at least a 350 Mi range at a minimum, and it needs to be reasonably priced. End of story. Why would I pay extra for range when I can just go get a nice regular car that's going to give me the range that I need and not have to deal with range anxiety? People shouldn't have to pay a premium on something that should already be provided, but they want folks to buy into THIS EV foolishness. What is it going to do in Toyota comes out with these EV cars in the near future that will have a thousand mile range with solid state batteries and the car is only cost $40 or $50,000? Not only that, Toyota is also going to be producing a 500 Mi range hydrogen car.
