It's worth mentioning that the collet attachment is not only more convenient than the grub screws, but also more accurate. If you don't manually tighten those screws carefully, the bcar ends up slightly misaligned with the barrel. The collet, by design, can't misalign since it's radially symmetrical. It may not be a big deal in most applications, but for precision and accuracy at extreme ranges, it definitely comes into play. There's really no justification for grub screws on such an expensive bcar when collets are widespread at this point.
@James-nd2yk11 ай бұрын
That is definitely true, especially for both swapping barrels (or bcars between blasters) or for alignment with the barrel itself (as collets are generally self aligning)

I definitely prefer the collet design myself. Hopefully Sabre add one to their bcar.

holy heck those are both exceptional groupings. Time to retire my fishing line unit... though at my ranges (the full length of the bedroom hallway), I suspect they'd perform similarly 🤣

Been using F&A BCAR since they popped up on OOD awhile ago, before the Sabre one was out. I liked it so much that I bought a second one for another blaster. I can't get over how freaking cool the hiss from the F&A is. And the laser accuracy. I still want a Sabre.. but that F&A hiss is just neat as heck.

Very good video! I really like the way you are testing the blasters, it's probably the most objective tests in nerf hobby. Are you going to make a review of the new worker bcar in future?
@BradleyPhillipsYT11 ай бұрын
Yes that's next week

Solid comparison video. If I can offer a piece of advice for accuracy testing though, you’d really benefit from building some kind of remote fire testing rig. Some kind of setup where the foam blaster is locked in a consistent stationary position, where you can pull the trigger either from a distance or otherwise in a way that imparts minimal influence on the blaster. It might seem overkill, but you clearly are interested in precision and it’s something I haven’t seen others in the space doing
@BradleyPhillipsYT11 ай бұрын
Working on making it a more stable platform. Stay tuned.

I've been thinking about this as well. They have something like the Caldwell Lead Sled on Amazon for just this use case.

you shouldve added a 3rd accuracy test at the end being the sweetheart with NO scar at all so we can actually tell if the flag one atleast gave some decent benefit.
@danielshiu892611 ай бұрын
That’s some insane accuracy.

Perhaps one criteria not being discussed yet is the precision and quality of the bearings (ABEC rating). I've tested between ABEC5 and 7 bearings, and the ABEC7 do have lesser lateral wobble, and feels to result in better grouping
@stihl88811 ай бұрын
Very interesting, would be interested in seeing a pointed tip mod to increase the ballistic coefficiency while you're at it, see how far you can take the accuracy and tighten the groupings!

Can you review the Sabre Ultima in the future?

Did you ever do any more testing on the JCPB “air BCAR?” I got one and I thought your theory on it helping performance with barrels that are too short quite interesting.
@BradleyPhillipsYT11 ай бұрын
I haven't used it since. More suited to HPA I believe.

I use the flag and armor 10 degree printed BCAR and they are very accurate for my 200fps blasters. I might have to give one of these a try as well.

I can only dream of having a BCAR with 100 bearings

I thought the flag and armor was 15 degrees? Does Foam Adelaide has a different degrees to choose from?
@BradleyPhillipsYT11 ай бұрын
The flag and armour is 8 degrees, Out of Darts has it listed wrong on their website

what about vs no BCAR?
@James-nd2yk11 ай бұрын
Hi Bradley, isn't that F&A/JingJia BCAR 15 degrees? The out of darts version is (not sure if foamworks is selling the same or a slower twist) but if so that would expect the poor grouping at this velocity. Might be a better comparison to also throw gavinfuzzycustoms (8degree) and a mego (5degree) into the mix.
@BradleyPhillipsYT11 ай бұрын
It's definitely 8 degrees. Not sure whether OOD may have mislabeled theirs as 15 degrees.
@James-nd2yk11 ай бұрын
@BradleyPhillipsYT I went through the photos and the jingjia images for flag and armour for the 5degree and 15degree models are all 8degrees, so wonder if it's just one batch and all mislabelled. Sabre measure as 5 degrees atleast. Had a look at a few other brands labelled as 5 and they also appear to be 8. Atleast sabre can use a protractor!

Currently I'm using a GavinFuzzyCustoms 9 bearing, 8° BCAR on my Nexus Pro and a Worker 20 bearing, 8° BCAR on my Worker Swift. The GavinFuzzyCustoms BCAR actually uses o-rings for its friction fit and it works exceptionally well. Very good accuracy out of it. For $30 it's priced very well. The Worker 8° BCAR is just a standard friction fit, no garden hose clamping method, no set screws and no o-rings. I had to use a bit of electrical tape to get a firm fit, but it also seems to be very accurate. $45 is also very reasonable for the quality. 8° Just seems to be the best all around angle for BCARS, but the amount of bearings seems to make a bit of a difference too. Loved the video by the way. I'm always excited to see your testing videos to help give me ideas on how to make the most out of my blasters.

I just fitted a sabre bcar to my baize. It has a sabre barrel and averages around 325fps with worker bamboo heavy darts. I am gutted , darts fish tail out of control with a random laser every now and then. With around a 3+meter spread at 20m. Honestly i wont be using it. 😢

no surprise here, sabre products are high end. I rock their bcar on both my storm and my ultima (got 2 of them, one came with the ultima), cant use anything else now that ive tasted it lol

Could you compare in a video the new 8 degree worker bcar with their old 15 degree bcar??? I'm thinking about buying one of those and the flag&armor

I have that flag and armor bcar, and it makes darts shoot out of my harrier like a laser. Although that Sabre bcar is sexy, its like... more expensive than some mid range blasters, which is silly. the F&A is like 95% of the bcar efficiency at 40% the price, its like a no brainer.
@NBL_USMC11 ай бұрын
It looked like your darts may have been hitting the sides of that smaller chrono for the Flag and Armor bcar

You can get a size of aluminium that fits over the brass perfectly and then you could use any normal BCAR
