Great work! I know you sometimes test used vehicles on your course. I'd love to see the previous gen forester (2014-2018) with the turbo XT engine on this course if you get the chance.

This is cool. I am bummed the Expedition didn't rate higher than the Tahoe. The Expedition's traction control seems to be the let down I guess? What about the locking rear diff on the ELSD vs the ELSD with manual locking option?

Thanks for watching! I should have been more clear, and I think I was in part 3. All of these vehicles did really well. There isn't a bad option in the bunch. The expedition I tested had the rear locker option (FX4 package) but unlike the F-150, the expedition just uses the ELSD clutches and applies maximum pressure to them. It's essentially locked, and I didn't notice any issues with the clutches slipping when I engaged the locker. Personally I prefer a real locker, but for something my wife was going to be driving around, the ELSD is a better option.

@@EngineAdventures Something else I noticed from the other video. The FX4 model you tested didn't have the HD Tow Package so it lacked some oil coolers. I wonder if any of those had any effect on the way it overheated, similar to the FX4 on the other very similar test done by another channel with three letters.

As far as the oil coolers go, I doubt it, as the transfer case is what overheated. However, someone else commented that there is another transfer case option in the expedition and it's the same part number as the Raptor's transfer case. It may be part of the Max Tow package. That one only uses the clutches for 4wd auto, not for the other positions. Therefore it won't have the overheating issue seen here.

@@EngineAdventures That's for the 4HI-LOC option that is only on the F-150 Raptor and Tremor. I was curious about whether or this was on the TImberline as well. If so, it would be a game-changer for sure.
