You have options. You can start with comb coils, twists, braids/ plats. I started mine with twists.

I like a twist out. My 4 year locaversary is coming up on 4/5. It had just started falling down my back but i noticed a lot of linr build up so i trimmed each loc in October.i cut the locs to shoulder length. Its just growing back. Its in 2 stand twista right now so idk how long they are. Its been twisted 4 3 months.
