Yes! My client, Currumbin Valley use one with upcycled dairy tanks and a waste oil burner. Check out the video here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmHQeGaKpbKBmMk

Electric heating is technically a lot more efficient, especially when it’s directly applied to a liquid.

With steam, you showed a gas fired steam boiler, but didn't mention anything about the issues with gas that you mentioned with direct fired gas. You can also get electric steam boilers. I think you needed to add information about how the steam is generated, not just used. That being said, love your videos. Very informative.

I just had a client with a steam brewhouse that swapped out their electric boiler and changed to gas and saves $5,000 per month on energy costs. Steam is good but not cheap when powered by electricity. Cheers for the observations about a gas boiler, yep, it still needs a system of flues same as a direct-fired brewery. Thanks for watching :-)

@@RockstarBrewer I’m in Taupō, New Zealand and looking at geothermal steam. Install is really high (sinking a bore 100metres), but the running costs are really low.

@@scottforsythe2024 that’s awesome man, what’s the brewery called?

@@s2561828 I’m actually a distiller. But the first part of all grain distilling is basically unhopped beer. Still in early startup for the Taupō Distilling Company.
