Well starting a brewery now, it’s important to know it’s a VERY different market now and to think you can go from a 10 gal setup to 60 bbl is VERY risky. As a brewer of 15 years and been in the industry for a over a dozen years, the envy is certainly real seeing all these videos:) Hoping to one day make a visit to the brewery, as I haven’t been back to Massachusetts since early 2014. I’m working on my own brewery FINALLY, but in no way do I expect for it to grow much beyond what it’s going to start as (hopefully no smaller than 5 bbl or having to use my 30 gal homebrew setup from 2014). Could I find investors, and go bigger, sure, but I don’t like outside money and the people that usually have it. You don’t make much as a brewer in a lot of places, so settling on small and just focus on local is the plan. I sure would love if I had just jumped in with my own place back in 2012 and see where that got me before everyone and their mother opened a brewery because “it’s cool” and “it’s a good investment”. Oh well, I’m 42 and brewing is my life now, so there’s nothing left for me but my own place because I sure am tired of working for people who don’t have the same vision, passion and commitment to quality.

Can you do a video about your quality control process and talk about how it was when you started, where you are at today, and what you guys are doing to continuously improve the shelf-life of your beer. Also as a co-founder and CEO from a business perspective, what are some things that you and your team do to continue to stay relevant and where would you like to take Treehouse in the future?

The first visit after Charlton opened, we only had access to the area by what's now the classics bar, and it was awesome walking in the first time, seeing the beams and the wooden hops, etc. "Oh my god, they're doing it." I forgot about this until now, but someone might remember, I believe there's an outline on the floor in the classics bar area that outlines the old barn they brewed in.

@treehousebrewco
@treehousebrewco Жыл бұрын
Good question! I had meant to touch upon this in the video - we don't do pilot batches. having brewed countless thousands of batches on our system we have a high degree of confidence in recipe formulation. pilot batches slow down progress for us. if it doesn't work out, we dump it - but that rarely happens.
