Great comparison. I have been using Dal Folds past mont now. I love those. I ordered Floppy proppys just last weekend to test then out as well. So far convenience of no takin props of for backpack and flight characteristics is combination I love. No return for normal props if my motor profiles won't change.

After damaging my 5.1 dalprops. I cut them down to 3" size. It worked well but would you do the same and do a thrust test comparing them to other 3" props?
@KremerFPV4 жыл бұрын
I have the Dalprop 3" fold, so no need to cut down the 5" I have :-) I do plan to test them soon.

Thanks man. Pro as always - thanks for the detailed review ! it seem like the gemfan has smaller diameter shaft for holding the prop - could be the point of failure.
@famady4 жыл бұрын
yes, that''s exactly what i wanted to mention too. The dalprop has a much stronger shaft. In the video you can see the Gemfan shafts are gone.
@KremerFPV4 жыл бұрын
My pleasure bro. That's an interesting point.

I agree with you. That if you mix the plastic hubs from different companies and blades of a different company, it will be better. So I hope all hub shaft and blade holes will be the same as all manufacturers. That will result a better prop of choice.

Yep :) Happy flying!

Looked like a blade broke off at the end. This is why I have not tried folding props. I have enough issues when regular props break and folding props seem more prone to breaking.

Yes I talked about it in the video.

Great video! I have been using the Dalprops for two weeks now and they work great. My only issue is that recently I have had more prop nuts come off mid flight since I started fpv. However I believe it is only after a crash + turtle mode. I think that the center piece has some flex in it even when snapped together unlike a typical hard plastic prop and this gives the prop nut a chance to loosen up. I'm sure if I re-tourqed each prop nut religiously like I should after a crash it'd be no problem. Oh well, food for thought...
@KremerFPV4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience. I guess it depends also on the motor that you are using.
@metoo39183 жыл бұрын
If your nuts are flying off, then the nylon part of the nut is not engaging the shaft. You may need low profile lock nuts.

I've been flying the dal props in the 7" flavor for about a week now and upright they feel fine but inverted they don't seem to give me as much hang time as I'm used to with a 7" quad ?? I am using them on an light Megabat frame which I figured would give even better inverted hang time but admittedly is a new build so just gauging hang time against my other 7" quads...Maybe my prop disc is collapsing with low/no throttle ??..
@KremerFPV4 жыл бұрын
That's possible. I still haven't tested the Fold 7" props unfortunately (Just bench tested them).

Very informative and helpful video. I've used both. I like the feel of the gemfans a little bit more. I do think the Dal hub is stronger. I mainly use them when I'm flying on the farm with lots of tall trees, less likely to get stuck. First crash into a tree it fell out. Unfortunately I don't no where the lipo went. 😁
@KremerFPV4 жыл бұрын
Thanks John. Have you experience any issues like me with the Floppy Proppies? It seems that this issue is more likely to happen when pushing the throttle, so for cruising around they should be ok.
@jlarson424 жыл бұрын
@@KremerFPV I've pushed the Dal folders on my 5s running 2207 2500kv motors. I was ripping around pretty good but wasn't long on full throttle. They held up to flying but the blades are more fragile then my normal props (HQ V1S and Hurricanes) . I crashed and the blades got chewed up. The gemfan folders, some blades started seizing up on the hub. So I lubed the pins, but the hubs were destroyed when I flew through a tree. The kwad did fall out of the tree, 👀 Happy flying 🤓

Absolutely, will NOT be using folding props of these designs. Had a 6s 5incher freak out and full send for what seemed no reason. After investigating, the speed and vibrations caused some blades to freeze up - making the motors extremely unbalanced. Convenient as they may be, no thanks!

Thrust data should be posted as a still image. The video is hard to follow, especially having to scroll back and forth to see data and losing your spot on the timeline when you do. Kinda pointless to me.
