I own multiple of each, couple of things I like to add in the Baracuta defense. The Baracuta jacket is not practical, but it look alot better on then chino jacket, better material and wrinkles free. It's a stylish piece use for looking good. It's might feel uncomfortable, but you're look great. Trust me.

Just have this two to compare here. Ordered RL for 120€ on aboutyou, LR (M) = Baracuta (42), the biggest difference in size are the cuffs, they are huge (actually sleeves in the near of the cuffs), actually it’s more bomber jacket like, not Harrington jacket. The material on LR is 100% cotton on G9 ist cotton/polyester mix ( which is more „rainproof“ + easier to clean). Overall quality for me personally seems to be better on the G9. Also the appearance of the G9 ist more neat do to the crumpled appearance of the RL cotton jacket combines with the clown sleeves :) . I give the RL multiple tries but I can’t live with this sleeves, also afraid of stains in the cotton. Lined collar is more comfortable on the neck (on G9). Over all, even 120€ ist too much for the compromise of wearing RL vor me.. perhaps I would say the best or nothing in this case.

I agree about the sleeves. I like the material on the Ralph, but depends what you are looking for. I’m going to pick myself up a 42 G9 at some point.

@@TimeandTalk I agree about the material, it’s not a deal breaker it just different, not worse. The color is amazing, I also thought to keep LF and go for the G9 in dark navy someday. But.. :) The sleeves are also very comfortable to be honest :) but ain’t looking neat for me personally. I’m glad that you enjoying it! Thank you for the video mate!

You sure that it's exactly this RL Jacket that you got on aboutyou for 120€ ? This one is normally 300€, I can find it for around 200€, but not less.

Ralph Lauren all the way. Has a better cut, I like the tartan cotto interior better. The lack of water resistance is a fair tradeoff for the better price in my opinion.

They both look good. The Baracuta looks more like a slim fit 40 but you pull it off. Providing, as you say, you don’t put anything inside the pockets. I would like a Baracuta but can’t justify the spend.

Its called a umbrella yoke.....The G9 is the original Harrington. Worn by Steve McQueen borh on and off screen.Elvis, Frank Sinatra,most recent Daniel Craig etc. Fraser tartan is the lining and no other can use this as Baracut have permission to use it.... There is only one Harrington and its the G9.You just bought the wrong size mate

Your guy s get them baracuta sizing wrong, 40 = small. The one you wear is a side to small "at least". I'm 170 cm tall , weight less then 130 ponds and I get size 40 whit baracuta. It's not the same as blazer size😅

true, i got a 40 Tan G9 and i m 6 feet 140lbs fits me pretty good, even in Baracuta's official site they state 38 as XS 40 as S, one size smaller than my usual barbour or suit jacket

@@richardz4630 How is the lenght in the arms and waist at 6 ft whit a 40? I got a 38 on discount and again im a lil under 130 pounds and 5,7. I havent received it yet. I got 2 size 40 but from the mesurements I should fit in a 38 also. Ill see whats up when I get it 🤞

i tried both 38 and 40 before i purchase them at store, both size fits me, length in the arms i don't really see significant differences, by looking the mesurements only it's true 38 fits me better but G9 classic fit is really cut to a slimmer fit, so i thought that compensate the extra fabrics a lot, it really depends on the style how you want to wear it, 38 fits me also good if i wore it only with a tee shirt in spring or summer and try to have a modern smart look but i prefer a more vintage classic look and wear a shirt or sweater unzipped as a outer jacket so i take the 40 @@marclussier7350

@@richardz4630 thank you for your answer. I was mostly affraid it would be to short but if 38 is not for you being at 6 ft then it's gonna work for me also. You are right about the smart casual look and the more classic look whit this jacket, both work. I find it also work as a leather jacket replacement in a look, even if very classic, this jacket have some flair to it. Thank's again.
