Crazy, exciting music! I know it was a repurposed variation of the Super Friends theme. But it also reminds me of the Mod Squad theme.

Though this is definitely the original version, I noticed something seems to be missing from 0:29 to 0:31. Check out the episode "The Thing With 1000 Eyes" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3PWlXx8bpp-a9k) - audio quality isn't the greatest, but in that video at 18 minutes 44 seconds, you can clearly hear the high trumpet doing a whole step trill from Ab to Bb. I wonder if it was an alternate mix or a one-off that was added in post-production.

When re watching battle of the planets I noticed a resemblance between some off the music to the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla series. I do remember watching gotcha man and not noticing the The differences till years later. At any rate I always loved the music to the show.
