Battle of the Rusty! - Puyo Puyo Champions

It has been about a month that I've gone without playing any Puyo Puyo at all. I signed up for an event the following my absence and was in desperate need of some de-rusting. Luckily one of the first Puyo Players I looked up to was down to play a few matches with me, that being Gruffin. We kinda expected to get a few good matches in just to de-rust, but what we didn't expect was how well we were about to play in those matches and the crazy stuff we would pull off.

@@cchays1975 This isn’t PPT, this is Puyo Puyo Champions, a game that did not include Klug as a character. In fact, the game consisted primarily of compile-era Puyo characters and quest characters, with only three characters from each sega-era world. And also Ally.

I get the logic of Puyo Puyo, but I'm more on the tetris side, so I'm not quite sure what the term GTR means, can someone help explain

GTR (Great Tanaka Rensa) is a chaining transition that you can consistently build. Think of it kind of like an opener that you can just set up and base the rest of your stack off of.

@@extremehauntergaming_ Puyo Puyo has a hidden row on top of the screen that you can't get combos with, he had a blue hidden up there at the top which scrolled onscreen from the column drop, and now that it's onscreen, it can chain.

I really enjoyed the style of this video. No over the top edits or overabundance of memes. Just simple camera zooms to focus on the important/crazy moments and a couple text annotations. Ended up watching the whole thing. Also, the matches themselves were really good. Holy cow, if that is just "de-rusting" to you two. Kudos.

Hey thank you so much for the feedback, and I’m glad you liked the editing for this one! For more gameplay focussed videos I like to adopt a less is more approach has forcing edits in the viewers face takes away from the matches and becomes more about the edits itself. Not saying it can’t work, I very much enjoy videos that manage to pull it off well, it’s just not my thing to put in my own stuff. As for the match itself, yeah I don’t know what was going on, we were both rusty but somehow managed to both play amazingly for our usual standards, there were a lot of highlights so this was made.
