Something to be said about the build quality of the Tactile Turn. I'll probably sell the Big Idea Design as I'm not carrying it as much but it might be nice to keep around. Thanks for watching much appreciated!

If you prefer one or two kinds of refills or like the basic feeling of a premium pen the Tactile Turn is the way to go. The Bigi Design pens are just in another level, the versatility and the amount of customization leaves any other premium pen behind. For me, I work in an office environment but also do a lot of hiking and wild life photography so the Big Idea Design pen comes with me where ever I go in hostile and neutral environments. I switch between refills regularly depending on my activities no other pen has provided me with the level of satisfaction as the Bigi Design pens have. I did enjoy my Tactile Turn in the office as it was well made and felt like a premium pen but felt short once my necessities came into play. I was using my Bigi TI pocket pro too often and my Tactile Turn short was left sitting on my drawer, had to sell it.

I prefer the original Big Idea bolt because I use a shorter refill and get a shorter pen compared to the internally adjusting slim version.

It’s been a while since you made the video has there been any change on how well the tt pen’s bolt action works? I heard of multiple people complaining that it worsened over time so I thought the big idea designs was a no brainer but the sound when you shake it isn’t okay as I want it to feel like a solid piece of metal

Its my daily carry now! I gave the BID to my dad for an early father's day present and he loves it. But I carry the TT everyday with no problems at all. Always get compliments when I let people use it as well

The tactile turn clip is definitely not "deep carry" that's why i got the regular size. Although i wish the normal size had the timascus clip option.

I know I definitely prefer the true deep carry on the Big Idea design but the TT holds a lot better and I still don't notice it in pocket vs the Big Idea. I honestly haven't carried the Big Idea since making this video I'm thinking about selling it

Very late to the party I love tactile turn pens but they are ridiculously over priced ngl. They have great quality, better feeling/writing experience and they look nicer imo. I’ve been using them since 2022. I use their mini slim bolt action pens and have collected all 4 materials with the Damascus clip and bolt for them. Ever since TT jacked the prices up of these pens I found my self not wanting to buy them anymore. And the 4slim mini pens I bought are in never used condition except for the rose gold one. I have stored them in a display case to look at them now. They’ve become to valuable for me to use/lose. I’m looking into buying a Big Idea Design pen since they’re prices are pretty good and I’ve heard how versatile these pens but idk about the quality

Hi, really enyoyed the review. How's the surface texture of Big idea design? Does it have the characteristic roughness of titanium which is very useful for giving some proper friction with your fingers?

I got the smooth version. Texture is nice but not near as grippy as the TT

Interesting we are on the same page different reasons. First I carry the TiArte from Big Idea and LOVE IT - after several stressful go rounds getting the collet to work. Balance is perfect. Got a Tactile turn double click love it too - those parallell lines give it a lovely look and feel. Its more satisfying to fidget with compared to Big Idea and the sole advantage with regards refills practically is that I also have a lamy pico (highly recommend) and the refills fit the Big idea but not Tactile T. Other than that ALL my favorite refills are in the list for Tactile turn. Bothers me a little bit that Big idea does not list made in china in any easy to find location on its website or its refill - different as far as I can tell between Jetpens and Amazon - IF I AM looking at the correct models....with several variants its hard to know what's what also what you are getting say when you get a 'Damascus pen clip...I wish both would do a better job explaining what each part does and what happens with the upgrade. Biggest criticism and it's great to be able to say this: that the Big Idea website is too minimalist to be fully intelligible. Apart from Schon Design and one or two other US manufactured pens (for me that means consistently good tooling - thing works is solid well made every time - and good customer service if its not. Sadly Big Idea Ultra COULD have been the greatest EDC pen of the century - full fountain pen 2 nib options, rollerball AND ballpoint /gelpen configuration included with interchangeable parts amazing - what happened? they cheated out on the nib manufacturer yes German not the good one.....I like foundation pens too but that's a different obsession. The raw ti on the big idea is susceptible to scratches. The clip on my tactile turn is scrated to shit but the body looks basically new. To avoid scratches, go stonewashed or go with Tactile turn. Cant really avoid the clip scratches though

I got the BigIdeaDesign ti slim bolt after using the arto edc for a while because I wanted something a little quicker to deploy. The internal mechanism for refills is really clever as well as the closed top screw. It’s their best design yet, better than the twisting grips. I can easily see it being a lifetime heirloom pen. What’s there that won’t break while adapting to changing pen refills in the future? Other than them not being made in the USA, you can’t really beat BigIdeaDesigns offerings.

Tactile Turn all day. Solid, beautiful, and you could also snag a timascus bolt for just 20 bucks.. and when you’re dropping 100 on a pen, what’s 20 bucks more
