I have walked thefields and woods, but when the vegetation was full. By photographing with the leaves off of the trees, Waffles has made it easier to visualize thevaction.

Much of the forest that those soldiers fought through are long gone. There were open fields here and there but nothing like that which is left today.

I'm confused. At 1:12 you are talking about the Orange Plank Road but you are showing the map for the Orange Turnpike! It took me several minutes of looking at other maps to figure out where you were. You kept mentioning AP Hill but you were showing Ewell's action map. Unless I'm all jacked up???😵‍💫

There is a tree at the 18:51 mark that looks big enough and old enough that it may be a "Witness Tree".

It is possible some trees in the area are. However during the fight there were descriptions of the trees being chopped down for breast work and the fire power from both sides cut down trees too. Men described large limbs falling on soldiers adding another level of horror to the fight.

They reckon it was the linen and paper cartridges/wadding from the musket fire that started thr blaze..
