Here because of DVP and ended up hitting the SUB button. Great match, could of gone either way but congrats to making the shots when they counted the most. Keep up the great content!

Welcome, and thanks! DVP played great in this one - definitely could have had me. Looking forward to his take on the match.

@41:20 you can basically stop it off of the 1. Shot the 4 to the other corner and take the cue off the long cushion for shape on the 7. Now you can go to the 7, 3, or 6 based on how you lie.

We were in 9-ball by this time, so I had to shape the 2.

21:09 it looks like the contact with the four was rail first, but I think the 6 hit the rail after just based on how it moves away from the rail near the end. It would've been close enough that someone would have to be watching to fairly call it.

Yeah, I agree. Good call on the 6 possibly grazing the rail.

@1:11:50 you say he's putting low left. He is actually putting low right, but not very much. When he hits the 7 it counteracts his right, which allows it to drift forward. He just needs to add more right to it.

I agree that low-right is the proper way to hit this to spin back towards the 8, or even just pure backspin. Not sure I agree that he hit with low right. Based on the tip position at 1:11:05 by slowing it down frame-by-frame, it still looks like he used low-left. Could be a trick of the camera.

@41:20 Was this shot dead straight? If so, you have a very good draw, good enough to let your stroke out and draw back to the right rail and back around the 6. Then, draw control would not have distracted you from making the shot. Would have been really cool to see that. @42:10 I have been busting @Drewvonporte butt about his safety game a lot on his channel.😂 @47:40 I like how DVP let his stroke out, and didn't try to control his draw. The draw path was right along the right side of the 7 and could have ended up really funny. Playing for the side pocket was a good decision. Reminds me of your 1 @41:20 @54:50 DVP was afraid of the scratch in the side. Smart to settle for the longer 8. @57:25 DVP!!! Why would you draw???? @1:02:45 Great Shot OTS!!! @1:03:55 Your draw ended up well, but a stun with a little left english through the 5/7, 2 rails back out to the middle of the table would have been awesome!!! @1:06:05 Inside kills speed. Killed DVP's speed @58:00, and lost the game, maybe the match @1:24:40. I make this mistake when I am not playing confidently. Enjoyed it more with your commentary. Hope you guys had a great time in Vegas!

I was reasonably straight on that 1-ball. Drawing past the 3 would have been a safer play. The position window opens up more as you get father away, and the cut wouldn't have been difficult. Did not need to try to trust a perfect draw length on that one. 47:40 I like how he played for the side. Lots of pros will do that as well. Safer position area, and easier to let it out than to play for a small spot. 57:25, yeah no need. Just a stop shot gives you the ideal angle. 1:03:55 not sure about that stun shot for shape. You'd have to really punch it to get it to come back around that far. Vegas was awesome! Thanks as always for the breakdown with timestamps.

@@OnTheSnap @1:03:55 You might be right. Punch would have to be pretty hard, and would need a little left english as well, which would sacrifice shot accuracy. I've been watching a lot of Shane's punches and I'm in a punch love stage lately 😂

57:25, I didn't like leaving it in the stopshot position, too much of a backcut for my comfort level lol but the draw got away from me a little. The real lesson was the inside spin that killed the speed... I liked inside, going 2 rails to get over for the 5.... I just learned how much you've gotta hit that on THAT shot right there. NO NEED though!! Just get to center table, play secure position, not aggressive position, like I had been playing the whole match.... sigh.... Baby steps guys 👶

THIS IS APA! DECISION GOES TO THE SHOOTER! IT WAS FINE!..... .... though to try and call it in retrospect is tough, if you ask me. It was 100% rail-first, but idk if the video is conclusive enough to say if they were frozen to the rail and whether or not they tickled the rail in the few inches they moved.... And I have a pocketful of other excuses (ie: final score) as to why he didn't need ball-in-hand there too, if you need more! 😅
