The thing that fucks with me about this part of the MW2 storyline is the 75th Ranger Reg is hands down culturally one of the most extreme components of JSOC Like everyone in SOF wants their fair share of blood and bodies, but the rangers have shown the most aggressive growth and evolution since their LRRP roots in Vietnam If the former ranger batt dudes on all of the podcasts are anything to go off of, they could almost be considered a younger brother to the direct action element of Delta and are supergrunts And to think that these guys, that full tilt sprint fields while magdumping and shit are dropping like flies Like they are both being butchered as well as probably sacrificing themselves like in the AAA portion I would not be surprised if the 75th in this time-line were pretty much wiped out and that's a fucking terrifying thing to think

"The Second Sun" is perhaps my favorite moment in all of the OG Modern Warfare Trilogy. On the other side of the globe in far-eastern Russia, Captain Price from TF 141 sets in series a chain of events that will change the world. He believes only he has the will to do what is necessary for the war in America to be won. In a daring operation, he hijacks a Nuclear Submarine from Russia and launches a nuclear missile into the air, targeting the Eastern Seaboard. The Americans, unaware of TF 141's motives, assumes this missile is Makarov's doing, and give Shepherd the blank check he needs to fulfil his ambitions, thus setting the stage for the third arc of the game; Hunting down Shepherd. Meanwhile, America has been invaded. The Eastern Seaboard is shrouded in darkness from the shadow of night cresting the horizon, and the only illumination is provided by lights in the city, the fires of war, and the stars in the sky. On the ground, US troops are struggling to maintain control over a seemingly unstoppable enemy. They are constantly on the backfoot, and Ramirez and his Squad are about to be overrun any second now. They believe this is the end for them. Finally, we have the astronaut from the ISS-the closest we get in the series to being a neutral observer of this titanic conflict. He watches the missile crest over the dark side of the earth, listening to the radio chatter between I.S.S. control and Huston. Curiosity compels him to watch and listen until the radio is violently cut off by the EMP of a nuclear blast. The lights on the eastern seaboard go out across the continent, and entire states are suddenly shrouded in darkness. As for Ramirez, on the ground, he braces himself for the end. A light shines from above him, blinding him for a moment. He soon realizes this light is _too bright, all encompassing._ He could see the bones through his hands. He thought for a moment if he died and had gone to heaven. He lowers his hand as the light fades slowly, and he sees the impossible; _A Second Sun_ shining down from the sky, blighting the land beneath its warmth with the wrath of the universe. Seconds later, everything falls from the skies like meteors crashing down. "The stars fell from heaven to the earth, as a fig tree shaken by a stormy wind sheds its unripe figs. The sky receded with a snap-as a scroll rolls itself up. And every mountain and island was moved from its place."

War in Ukraine has shown us that wars wouldn’t be on such massive scales using air and heavy armored vehicles. Both sides will likely call on mortars and artillery strikes with ground forces moving in squads battling for each building. Not running around freely but shooting tons of ammunition just to make a suppressing fire on enemy positions. Not to mention that skies would be swarming with drones with bare ability to identify friends from foe. It wouldn’t have been as theatrical as we expect seeing it in the movies… but my God how deadly and full of horrors still… take drones for instance, such brilliant idea, yet nasty and dangerously rat like modern wars now. I don’t. Know what’s worst. Having wars like here in MW2, or moving between the blocks with constant fear of FPV, shelling or enemy positions firing endlessly.
