Honestly I would definitely suggest Titanfall 2 for any FPS fans, and as I mentioned it was made by Respawn which has a lot of the writers and devs who worked on the better COD games. The campaign is great, and the multiplayer is some of the most constant exciting action packed gameplay I've personally experienced in a first person shooter. And it's pretty active atleast on PC.
