It was a defence so the strategy should have been defensive. They could have maned the walls or stood behind the trench. They just wasted huge amount of army for nothing xD.. I think the producer couldn't bear Dothraki expenses so they decided to remove them .

Sending the Dothraki on a head on charge into the darkness was one of the dumbest, unrealistic blunders I’ve ever seen. This not only depletes the ranks but added to the dead ranks.

Great video but MY FUCKIN GOD was this a stupid battle plan. Just charge right into the enemy. Especially when they already stated, previously, that straightforward tactics weren't gonna work.

tbh i kinda understand that the dothraki had to charge in to make all hope fade for the others, but it would have been so much better if 1. they let the wights charge at the unsullied 2. the dragons would cut the wight army in half with fire 3. the dothraki would charge in from the side perhaps they were scared of white walker spears? also, where tf was tyrion with his wildfire? his one success as battle commander, completely forgot about it or what?

Why are they not using the perfectly good fortress right behind them, why are the siege engines in front of the infantry, why are the cavalry just sent to die unsupported. Horrible tactics and poor writing aside, it’s a cool video and the music makes it feel more epic than it is.

The director should’ve been fired, how could you film critical scenes that are so dark you can’t see what’s going on. Shame on the studio to watch this happen and keep writing checks, what a complete travesty. Only topped by the by the ending of the show for how to completely tarnish and forever ruin the legacy of the show. It’s like they gave up and gave a toddler the authority to do whatever they wanted. Just completely ruined the show.

This episode was a cinematic masterpiece on par with big budget movies. However the writing was awful, the battle tactics used were clearly from someone with zero understanding of medieval warfare, like who thought it would make sense to put catapults at the front! of your army & to charge light shock cavalry in to the front of a zombie horde... The level of plot armour given to special characters was also insufferable. The Night King's death was an insult, that should have been John, maybe with help at the end. This episode was the one which caused me to stop watching this show. I gave the next episode a chance and I didn't even finish watching it. Somehow the Dothraki are back in massive numbers again alongside the Unsullied who valiantly sacrificed themselves so the other forces could withdraw in to the city. These reverses of all the losses suffered makes the impact of their sacrifices pointless.
