Defy the Legends is only underrated because The Fight to the Finish is simply unbeatable. But this track doesn't get enough love, really sets the climax of "Two demigods (You, a human in the body of a Pokemon with ungodly potential, and Rayquaza) fight for the fate of the earth atop the heavens"

Idk, it doesn't feel like a fight between two demigods, but instead someone challenging a demigod/god in their own domain. Because in all actuality, your character is no stronger or weaker than any other pokemon can be at their level (apart from legendaries). It fits the song name and theme better to have it be a somewhat normal pokemon challenging a legend. Or at least, in my opinion it does.

I honestly like the dark matter second phase theme more than the rest. It just feels so grand and makes you feel like you’re defeating something that could destroy everything you know. Dialga also had the power to do that, but to me, it doesn’t have that same wow factor dark matter second phases did. Honestly tho, what do ik since I’ve never even played explorers. I’ll also say this, I don’t get why the last story bosses weren’t pokemon in gates and psmd. I do prefer fighting actual pokemon. Dark matter was cool tho. Bittercold on the other hand wasn’t as good

I feel the actual remake we've got tried to convey a sense of urgency (because y'know... the meteorite) but this one tried to have us bask in the glory of a legendary Pokémon, thus it feels less urgent but more energetic and almost majestic. Thats what i feel anyways. Great work as always Zame, nobody else remixes like you.

I imagine the scene going something like: *when you face him the first time:* he looks down on you daring to disturb him as he so arrogantly and ignorantly refuses to look up while you're fighting to save the planet. The original remix plays. But Upon beating him and convincing him, he destroys the meteor but first Mega Evolving to do so, something he didn't do in the initial fight. *Upon rematching him,* he goes on some tirade about recognizing your strength and apologizing for past actions but ending his speech by saying he's not gonna hold back this time just because you're the world heroes (he's got his pride to keep after all) *he Mega evolves, and this plays*

Wdym? The remake version of Defy the Legends wasn't bad, triangles were a bit loud but you get used to that as you play the game.

Triangles are slightly loud, but it’s pretty in line with the original version when I go back to listen. They seemed to want to keep the music feel as close as they could, even to keeping some of the sounds from the GBA/DS like the bass notes, and not going full orchestral.

ds and 3ds games are pretty limited on storage space since it's all on the cartridge, so music is saved as a MIDI file, rather than something like an mp3. Shame we probably won't get this kind of quality in the switch games though.

I feel like the actual game tried too hard to be like the original, I was even able to hear the dinging from the Triangle which just didnt seem to fit well when its not compressed like the old games. It sounds worse when I use my headphones to listen to it. Like your approach on the remix though :)

@@liamwhite3522 Its also in the original, but it isnt as clear since its compressed which makes it more so blend in the background. But since the remake isnt compressed, you can clearly hear it which it makes it more distracting than enjoyable to listen to.

Je ne suis pas encore arrivé assez loin dans le jeu pour pouvoir comparer ce remix avec la version présente dans le remake, mais si je me fie aux comparaisons que j'ai pu faire jusqu'à présent entre les remix de Zame et les musiques de l'original d'un coté et les musiques de l'original et celles du remake de l'autre, je penses pouvoir dire avec de l'avance que c'est du sacré bon travail (comme d'habitude en fait). P.S. : Deuxième remix de cette musique, deuxième sans-faute, j'ai hâte d'écouter les autres remix faits à l'occasion du remake s'il y en a de prévus.
