I like how Wally is sort of like an inverse rival to the player. We're used to playing the character who's always a step or two behind, Blue and Silver would always have already earned the badge from the gym before us, meanwhile, for most of RSE/ORAS we're the ones ahead of Wally, the only reason he pulls ahead is because we get sidetracked *saving the world* and even when he's at his peak, standing before the Pokemon League at the end of Victory Road, no matter how far ahead he pulled in the badge race, he's still leagues behind us in terms of actual skill as a trainer. We are the Blue/Silver to Wally. The parallels aren't just in game progression either. Blue is Oak's grandson, Silver is Giovanni's son, in RSE/ORAS we are the child of one of the stronger gym leaders in the Hoenn region.

I love the small portions that incorporates Hoenn's champion theme, adding more to the melody before it loops back in a short amount of time as my minor issue with the original. I dare say this is one the best GBA iterations of Wally's battle theme on KZbin.

Wow! Wally’s ORAS theme sounds great in the RSE soundfont, and I love the additional leitmotifs you added from the gym, e4, and champion themes. It’s a nice touch! If Wally had a theme like this in RSE, I probably wouldn’t have forgotten about him until ORAS lol!

Something about listening to GBA's soundfont just feels so classic. I love how the beginning of the track uses the Hoenn champion's intro backing it up with Wally's theme that ORAS gave us. There's something about putting that champion motif in the beginning that symbolizes how powerful wally had grown as a trainer off screen. As if he had the potential to surpass the elite four including the champion himself if Brendan wasn't in the picture, but alas, he was always in a league ahead of him. A fundamental character that's loved in pokemon's third generation, and a memorable rival, really feels great hearing this in GBA.

Not a fan of the Champion leitmotivs. It would be fine including those if this was for if he became Champion of the region, though. Imo, should've either kept the original song length intact or come up with an original leitmotif if you really want to extend it to make it less repetitive.
