This is easily my favorite battle theme from these games; Camelot knew it was great because they remade it for Dark Dawn! I tried as hard as I could to make this version as close to the original as possible (I think I spent extra time on this track alone), and I think the result is fantastic.

@@Keppler_452b that is bad. get issac to 13 which is baby easy and set his 2 earth djinn along with 2 of mias. unleash summons on first round with garet forge for extra attack and then just spam Ragnarok

Swapping around the Earth and Water Djinn with Issac and Mia is also a pretty good combo early on. Cutting Edge from the Swordsman class tree is a pretty good Psynergy to use against Saturos.

To me, this is the best song in Golden Sun. It represents everything I love about this game's soundtrack: it has a mystical, epic, and medieval feel to it while also sounding modern at the same time thanks to those awesome synths. This song's so good, it even decides to take a break to dance to itself at 0:44. That's just how good it is. 😁

In general the writing and characters are so damn good. You even question if you do the right thing sometimes. Who is bad and who is good. Ar the end of the day Saturos and menardi wanted to save their home..

When you realise that despite their behaviors, they weren't really evil. This theme makes much sense when you listen to it after finishing the game, it has more "sad" vibe than their final boss theme during venus' lighthouse. Saturos and Menardi have to do this. Not only for Proxy, but for the world too. They have to be seen as the bad guys.

They weren't simply trying to look like the bad guys, they were just...bad people, to a degree of their own. Saturos and Menardi attacked people who got in their way...Okay, fine, reasonable. But attacking innocent scholars incapable of self-defense? Unreasonable, they just attacked everyone who moved no matter how defenseless they were. This of course does not reflect on Prox, but simply them as people. Saturos and Menardi were trying to save their village, but they were still very much bad people who committed wrong for the sake of their cause, some of that wrong being quite needless and irrelevant to their goal.

I was a dumb kid and didn't know how to fix the slowed down speed on my emulator, so I played through a lot of the game with the music and effects slowed down... and this song still kicked ass even then. If anything, the slower speed increased the emotion of the moment.

It’s something I found out at 15..0.7 on Saturos and if you play the Kraid theme from Metroid it’s also bomb. They used that speed in Metroid prime echoes for the torvus bog underwater section.

This song isn't strictly metal due to the timbral differences, but it's compositionally adjacent to prog metal to the point where it could pass if you just swapped out the lead strings for guitars and added some driving rhythm guitars. For comparison, Ne Obliviscaris immediately comes to mind.

I remember the first time I played Golden Sun on my gba, the catridge was lent by my HS friend and he said it was good! I knew I'll be fighting a boss top of Mercury Lighthouse and ohboy the young me was like _"This is Saturos weakened by the water lighthouse?? what the how strong can they both be if they're at the mars one??"_ and remembered dying alot from fireball aoe of his lol xD fun good memories.
