It doesn't seem to help level me up and I'm on floor 40 and about a level 60 in the Palace and only level 27 out of there and when I started in there I was only level 26. Seems super slow and much better to just go in the wild and fight monsters.

For people who are wondering how to repeat Floor 51-60, you need to have an empty save slot. If you have no slots, you can delete a save data. When you start a new save, you will be asked to either start from Floor 1 or start from Floor 51 (unlocked when your finished Floor 50 once).

17:02 little note, from patch 4.1 onward, players only need to be level 15+ to unlock Glamours. Don't have to be level 50 anymore for that.

so i realize Im a little behind here, been playing since the start of HW and never quite saw the appeal. Usually doing 10 floors gets me one level, but I feel like for the amount of time it takes that maybe im doing it wrong or that theres something better out there

@PrisonCipher What you just linked shows different.... doing the math on a dps, potd would take 2340, dungeons would take 2456.... Now what you linked is an old post so it could be wrong, but.. the numbers i just calculated were for 50-70.

It's actually more effective for healers and tanks to spam highest level dungeon for your current level along with daily roulettes. Also helps you practice your new skills.

you can only go from floor 1 to 10 on a free trial, I just tried it and it wouldn't let me continue, but this is a good way to level anything past your first job. the first one you just do the MSQ to level up, its pretty simple, I just started my second one and I found it hard to level with the lack of steady XP, so this should do nicely until level 35, which is the cap for free trials. the plan is to level every job I find interesting to 35, then pick a main one and sub and level that to 80. I think I'll go with warrior, Paladin, Arcanist and Archer and just leave the rest at level 1 or, well, the rogue is level 7 and the Taumaturge is level 17, but I'll leave them there for now, I prefer tanks and ranged dps that are simple to play and according to videos I've seen, the black mage is not for beginners, so I'll leave it be for now.

Level cap was increased to level 60, now you can do palace of the dead unlimited.

Every tenth floor where you hit an exit, you get a BIG amount of EXP put into your actual exp.

Thanks for the video! Just one fast question as a new player with a friend (BRD and BLM) we are now level 39 doing the main quest which ALWAYS leave us basically one level off. Atm we are exping using standard dungeon and Exp roulette but the main issue is the waiting timer to enter one, since we are DPS are about 10 to 15 m wait to half a level not counting dungeon time. I saw that you advise doing 10 runs and exit; It's that more efficient? My free time is crying with our current exping method ahahah

you can ride out 60 in POTD then do HoH 60-70

yes, but not like your probably thinking. the levels you reach inside do not translate to levels outside (like he mentioned) when you exit (every 10 levels youll have the option) youll get xp at that point based on levels completed and enemies killed. just cause you made level20 in there doesnt mean youll be 20 when your level 1 class exits

One thing to also note that PoTD gives what in my data center a great queue time off prime time. That, and XP/time aside not everyone have the time to wait for 30 minutes or more to find a matched party for a single run as a DPS where the queue hell is. For comparison my friend and I leveled up ARC from 1 to 50 together, I reached level 50 in almost half his time by repeating 51-60 PoTD while he does FATEs or queueing for highest available dungeon.

It isn't if you're a tank/healer. But DPS have to wait for Queues. Thus, POTD is faster.

So what you are saying is you get nothing in terms of exp untill you get to floor 10 to get any actual real exp for your toon on the class you are trying to lvl up!!.. Good god this sounds as bad as Torghast

The XP is actually really good if you're leveling as a DPS and are having lengthy queue times for normal dungeons or you need a break from leves. Keep in mind, this isn't something you should be doing while doing MSQ. MSQ is always the best XP for the first job.

@PrisonCipher Lil late on the reply but for posterity sake this post was last updated in 2017, 4 years ago at this point. I wouldn't use it as a current data set. That's not to say that PotD is a godsend but, speaking from personal experience, I am able to gather more XP via PotD and HoH, in the current climate, per hour than doing fates while waiting for a dungeon queue. However, this is a personal experience and undocumented metric simply basing it on time played and levels achieved during my perceived time of play for the day so take it with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, none of this is fun from a pure grind perspective so its fine to mix it up to prevent burnout. Just know that purely grinding fates awards minimal XP per fate and there are a TON of variables that attribute to XP/hr whereas PotD/HoH tend to be fairly consistent in terms of completion times by competent groups.
