K sounds good, so you just have to make sure you don't stall out/go sonic mode into the nearest map object. I really hope they either add a rearcam or air radar (not both!), otherwise dfs will be kinda shitty ^^

Yeah agree or an actual working freelook function. There wont be any air radar although you will see airplanes on the map if they are spotted.

Always nice to see your BF plays :) We should hop into a round sometime! By the way, if you haven't messed around with your key bindings yet, the default setting for right click is to zoom in on your main gun while in first person, which you might find useful for spotting/sniping infantry and far away planes, although road-killing seems to be very effective already (even against bailers). Also I noticed you repeated the clip from 2:21 at 5:51 xD Great flying!

I wish that Dice will add the BF4 chase crosshairs for when you're third person, so you would have bad aim but have better visibility around you, while first person is accurate but less visibility

I am really happy with the look and feel of the game. I am just hoping that make the turn speed a little faster for all areas. It will add more dynamic and fast paced dogfights aswell as be more true to life of the agility of the fokker triplane

anyone else notice that this guy's plane moves ALL AROUND the screen in 3rd person? In other flying vids, the plane stays in that one spot of the screen in 3rd person view. Did they just change this? I like it alot better and hope it will look like this in the final product

How do you turn so fast with a mouse? i never understood that, you have to swiped the mouse like a mad man or theres some trick to it? like bind mouse 1-2 turn left vs right?. I use keyboard only WSAD and arrows.

The only keybinds I've changed is replacing spacebar "Fire" with "Pitch Up". That's it. I have to lowest sensitivity of all the dogfighters in BF4 afaik, so it's pretty low I guess (400 dpi, 6/11 windows and 16% in-game). Controlling air vehicles in BF has a lot of mouse acceleration, both negative and positive, so if you swipe to the left fast with your mouse, you'll barely turn at all (negative acceleration). If you move your mouse slowely to the left in a long pattern and at the end of the swipe lift the mouse and start over from right to left, your plane is still going to roll at maximum speed and won't stop in time before you start doing the same movement again (positive acceleration). So the way you see me pitching up (when I do loops and so on), is me holding down spacebar, which means I'm maxing out the treshold, just like pulling down a joystick completely. tl;dr: So the "trick" with turning with a mouse in Battlefield air vehicles is basically to do slow, long and continuous movements, instead of trying to drag your mouse across the mousepad as fast as you can.

I have watched countless hours of Alpha footage and you are indeed a great pilot. I understand you fly with mouse+keys but are you able to let us know whether the controls can be bound to a joystick with rudder ? Is the engine also on/off (as it was in that era) or does the game have some sort of analogue throttle ?

I have no idea about the joystick support in BF1, I have a joystick but haven't used it in years and can't be bothered to find it. I would guess joystick works like it does in BF3/BF4. Engine is on/off afaik, you can't really throttle and when you press/hold S, the engine shuts off.

There can be 3 planes up on each team at the same time, so that was probably just another attack plane and the one I disabled/killed just went down.

Attack planes are much slower then fighter planes, but fighter planes lack air raid support.

No. I've actually been playing the Beta a lot and I haven't bailed out in a losing dogfight because I'm always thinking I can get out of his range and repair. Sometimes it works, other times I fly into the ground and die due to a broken wing.

Currently you don't have air radar, rear view or a working freelook function (that doesn't block the XY axis) Proper Dogfighting is not possible because next to the sound and seeing what is infront of you its just guessing. So after years we get a decent flight model and currently we get stripped of having any siutational awareness

Now that the game is out flying is complete shit compared to the alpha. In the full release the planes when they turn go teleporting everywhere. The tail guns on attack planes and bombers do more damage than the main gun on a fighter plane. Smoke effects don't come out anymore as you do more and more damage. Why dice why
