Putting old military sets back together takes ages and costs a TON of money. In the two years i've been collecting soviet sets (some 5 hours of research a day) i've finished 3 kits and spent some 2-3 thousand euros on them, and they have a lot more value.

you know what would be cool? Bolt-action Rifles only Air-soft. as a matter of fact: Basically Air soft BF1. everyone gets out into a team and given a Uniform depending on which factions they are put in (they also can only use weapons that are historically related to the faction) Gas grenades could just be green smoke grenades and die if you get touched or breath in the smoke. Im not really able to think straight forward rn so maybe someone can touch up on my idea...?

I actually play something close to that in my backyard, everyone uses spring only rifles, and semi auto, pistols or airsoft revolvers, and everyone stays in one spot that's their "trench", and they try to pick each other off with their guns.

I've been working on that of course it will be small(6v6) I'm working on trenches with friends. How it's going to work with the uniforms I'll be making them but they have to buy the materials for the uniform. I'm going to supply them with the rifles.

I had the spring shell-ejecting DBoys one. It was pretty fun. If you set yourself up in a good position and have someone guarding you, it's actually easy to get some decent ranged kills. That and fieldwerks makes a nice rubber k98 bayonet which I used a lot.

FYI, in WW1 the Germans also used the k98az, meant for the artillery, cavalry and anybody who doesn't need a long gun. However, the sturmtruppen (stormtroopers) stole a lot of them and equipped them with trench mags for trench raiding.

@Tomos Ap Llewelen but America never lost any of there battles or there trenches to enemy forces and never surrendered plus ever heard of the title devil dog the Germans gave that title to the Marines in ww1 because they fought fearsly and never gave up or surrendered and also ever heard of the Harlem hell fighters who never lost a man or gave up any of there trenches yeah guess what they were us troops and all allies except British Indian and Italian troops we're all at a stellmat and when the us got over there we relieved the pressure and broke through and the French army said since we were so fierce two months over there would make us look like we were there since the begining of the war so if you have any facts to reply back to me on I'll be waiting.

The Germans did use ankle boots and puttees during both World Wars, but always a bit after the war began. But yes, the British puttees probably inspired the Germans.

Not exactly. In WW1 the Germans usually used the Gewehr 98 but also the K98AZ. The WW2 K98k is a different weapon.

It's been 3 years so I'm going to point out the things wrong on his uniform First we need to figure out what year he portrays which is 1917-1918 since he has the late war mask. -The leather gear is mostly WW2 with his ammo pouches, y strap, bayonet frog, and Jackboots -The color of his y strap and ammo pouches are way off. The color should just be a simple brown that is more of a natural color or a black. -His canteen is a swedish -He has a east german bread bag -He is carrying way more stuff than a regular soldier would have. Which he does point out himself -The buckle is inaccurate because they were only issued early in the war -He has a WW2 stick grenade that is zip tied to his belt

The rifle from the Chinese Civil War he was using was basically the same except for the back sling attachment it’s a hole in the stock for the kar98k but this one it just hangs off the bottom

I run a WWII German setup, probably my favourite out of the various that I have tried. If a company would produce a SMLE, gas or spring, I'd feel more inclined to complete my WWI British load out. Guess I'll have to pray and wait for that one. I recommend weathering your helmet though, most of the reproductions look really fake when brand new, compared to originals. I grit textured mine and slapped mud on it, looks legit.
