I returned to BF1 recently after not playing for years & was also really impressed with the game. Got me on such a battlefield kick that I downloaded BFV as well but that just doesn't hit the same as BF1 for me.

I have played thousands of hours of BF1. It is nice seeing the perspective of a newer player to remind me of all the little, but spectacular reasons I love the game. Sometimes you forget them after playing so long

BF1 is, in my opinion, the best all round FPS game of the last 15 years. The graphics, cinematics, gun play, playability, fun factor, longevity etc is literally perfect. Operations is a master piece, and I'm glad that private servers with no hackers are still going very strong. I play on 3 servers regularly with zero issues. There's many more years of gameplay left in it too. A Literal masterpiece.

I re-downloaded it recently and have been playing in Oceania. There only servers on the weekends but I've been loving the game all over again. Best immersion in a fps you can get.

The last I remember, and it's been a while, The 4 gunner points and the pilot seat are vulnerable to AA guns and the like so you can be shot out of it, you wasn't on rails so you could steer and pilot freely although it's like driving a tanker boat, and when it crashes it deforms the terrain and you can fight in the wreckage of it too. It's quite fun. Hope you don't mind me filling you in on some of those questions you had :)

Ooh, if you like ironsights, definitely do yourself a favour and get the Martini-Henry! Its sound is fantastic and it's a great shorter-range sniper. You've made me redownload the game, by the way! Will get back into it very soon, cheers mate! :-)

one of my favorite rifles is probably the arisaka patrol, just over the martini. i don’t know how they did bolt actions in this game but that thing is a dopamine machine.

It is one of the best games I have ever played! And the multiplayer was probably my favorite aspect of the game especially the voice actors for the multiplayer characters better have gotten paid well, because the way they talked, screamed the sounds and visuals, is a chefs kiss. BFV was not the best at launch sure but glad to see it made a come back!

Yeah I am new to this game too, so far I only played it for just under 200 hours, I play this game almost every evening about 2-3 hours and it is so much fun. But I am not new to the gaming at all, I started playing this type of game back in the 2000´s or so, when the Delta Force games was released on PC, Also I played a lot go Battlefield 1942, its an old game now. And in the 90´s I played alot of Quake 2 on PC, and back in the late 80´s and early 90´s I played on my Amiga 500 almost every day, Prince of Persia and Flashback. Battlefield 1 is 8 years old but still full servers and one of the very best games out there, at least in my opinion. Since I am in Europe I play on the European Servers. Maybe I´ll see you on some of the servers some day.. Thanks.

I don't mind inherent inaccuracy/"bloom" in theory, but most games exaggerate it pretty severely. I think true-to-life inaccuracy (e.g., for an M1 Garand, 3 or 4 inch grouping at 200 yards) is perfect.

Picked this up on PC for like $8 usd during the last steam sale. Such a good game and such a shame they haven't come out with a competitive WW2 or modern shooter in years. The WWI theme is the least interesting in my opinion, all the guns feel terrible besides the rifles.

I'm a big fan of 5 as well, I'd say the atmosphere / feeling like you're in a proper battle is better in BF1, as well as the Grand Operation game mode being incredible. I don't quite know why they didn't continue the same style of Grand Operations with airship / train equivalents in BF5. The gunplay in BF5 though is probably my favourite
