While there were many problems I had with many of the campaigns; I adore the first sequence. It’s so hard to even fathom the insurmountable hopelessness that ww1 entailed, particularly when it comes to the trenches of the western front. While bf 1’s opening doesn’t even come close to accurately depicting the brutality and gore of the conflict it does give a sense of how worthless it was. You take the place of someone, a person with a name, who goes to die. And after that you go to the next, repeat... it’s a clear but not disrespectful way of showing the player that these people where effectively sent to the slaughterhouses.

No way, I basically made this as well when bf1 came out but with one of the official trailers and kept the sound and my classmates said it didn't match but I told them that the song was supposed to contrast the war going on in the trailer

Every time I look back at a poem I made "The Burning bridge" A metaphor in a way of saying: A trust broken between 2 groups or more. A fictional event, but still having an "informal purpose" A story that describes how an "Incident had completely torn the speaker from his past life." A story that describes an unbalance between the company and the victims Here it is: Oh, how close strangers were brought to a broken memory. Oh how the bridge would fall, Oh, how the graves were only to be left behind. Oh, how many lives were lost, Yet living through this hell, Oh, a decision from a failed project. Before my collapse. Before misinformation was spread! Oh, the 38 years left behind, Only to be blinded by darkness. Oh, how the day would come, All that remains is a broken bridge. Oh, how decisions inflicted a company’s past. Oh the families that had their loss, Oh, how they cried over their loss! All that remains, Is a broken bridge. And how that bridge would fall, Would be the mistake, That would change a man, For his life. The many years, Was thought to be left behind. Yet only one to remain, Miserable, yet determined. All that remains, Is a faded past. Only to be burned behind, A once stable life. All that remains, Is a faded past.

This game's atmosphere will forever be unrivaled. I don't think any game will ever depict the battlefields (pun unintended) of ww1, or any war for that matter, as viscerally intense and faithful as BF1.

@klausjack87313 жыл бұрын
Because this song is cheerful in a dreadful time. In ww2 many people (especially in the uk) would listen to comedy programs and cheerfully song to make themselves happy in dark times.
