Edit: I came back to see this comment (June 2022) and forgot to elaborate on my comment, since I didn't describe enough. The reason I really felt emotional since I have always felt disconnected from the gaming community. I've never played the OG Halo, or the OG COD, stuff like that. Xbox 360 and ps3 possibly had some of the best games ever made. Sure, ps4 and Xbox one games play well, but a lot of games now don't have as good stories. I mean, there aren't as many well crafted games these days. Apart from games like: Uncharted 4 and ND Collection, Last of us 1 and 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Gears of War. I remember when I was like 7 or 8, I had an Xbox 360. The feelings I had when I played games like Battlefield 4, Dead Island, red dead, assassin's Creed 2 and 3, and halo reach cannot be matched by any other games. People have said to me things like "it's just a game, there's nothing special about it" to me. People that haven't played video games don't know what it's like. I have cried in annoyance of not beating a level, I have cried because of a sad scene in a game, I was filled with joy when I got new games, I got sad when I finished games. Nothing in my life anymore can compete with those feelings. The things I have felt with playing games such as uncharted 1-4, horizon zero dawn, dead island, assassin's Creed brotherhood, 2 and 3, halo reach, god of war most of all, can not compete with any other feeling that I have ever felt. Gamers such as me don't rush through games. We feel how the game affects our emotions. We savour the feelings. We choose what we think is beneficial for the story, to kill, or to save people. I love games with great stories. Like interactive books. Novels you can write by yourself. If you sit down and play a game like Detroit or uncharted 4 for awhile, I guarantee your brain will feel better. There is something about the human brain that responds to these great games

Confronting Lord Shimura in Ghost of Tsushima, watching Jackie die in front of us in Cyberpunk 2077, watching our bois Ghost, Roach, and Soap die, the ending to Final Fantasy 15, Lee’s death by Clementine to spare him a painful existence as a walker, watching Midna bid farewell forever to Link in Twilight Princess, Ryu sacrificing himself for an endless slumber to stop the demons in Breath of Fire 2, way too many emotional moments in gaming to count, yet all of them so memorable. What makes moments like these in gaming so impactful is the ability of player interactivity. We played through these moments in these games. We made the choices that let to those outcomes. It’s a reflection of ourselves and what we would do in those moments just as much as it is a reflection of what the characters did in those same moments.

I've played nearly every game in this video and watching this made me cry, A good single player game makes you connect with the characters. A great single player game makes you friends with them, It sounds dumb but those characters have shaped who I am and who I want to be.

Same, amazing editing and timing on the most heartfelt scenes, I shed a few tears to this especially both The Last of Us death scenes

Not dumb, it's because of a good story and writing in general. Things like these makes us see the world wider and wiser if we actually look into it properly.

@@reposter6434 man games are built different sometimes. you obviously never cared to get invested or just never played a good emotional game.

I relate to that because I got attached to Task Force 141 of CoD and when I saw them die off 1 by 1 I lost a part of myself.

What makes me cry is I have experienced every single one of these stories and just goes to show how many amazing stories there are to play man, plays with our emotions so much and I am glad to have been a part of each and every one of these

"There are so many stories where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day and because of their sacrifice, the good guys win, the survivors all cheer, and everybody lives happily ever after. But the hero never gets to see that ending. They’ll never know if their sacrifice actually made any difference. They’ll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they just have to have faith. Aint that a bitch." - Epsilon, Red vs Blue
