Hey man I have a question. Do you know why my game goes into blackscreen and don't respond whenever I go back to main menu or map changes in campaign? This only happens if I play in any resolution above 800x600. I am on windows 10 pro. I am playing using windows xp sp3 compatibility mode and in admin. I tried editting video.con and set it read only but still get blackscreen. I wanna play this game in my native resolution :(

I never had this problem. Do you use the community fix for the game? team-simple.org/download/ "Battlefield 1942 GameSpy patch v1.61" It makes you able to choose widescreen resolutions, it might help on your situation too. I play on Win10 and i didn't have to use compatibility mode, but i don't have problems even if i use it. BF1942 menu is always rendering on 800x600 resolution, it feels like your GPU or something doesn't like the resolution switch... maybe try to update your driver? I never had this problem and i played this game on many computers.
