Loved this mod, I was SO good with mini heli. Could fly flow in river channels without enemies seeing. Would cap flags, with usual landings. The memory I'll always remember was when I first started playing. I don't recall the map, but you had to take transport helis to the enemy side of the map. The pilots were always noobs and kept killing the whole squad. It was funny the first few times.

Fun fact. The guys who made the Desert Combat mod were hired by Dice to help in the making of Battlefield 2. Unfortunately, the studio for the mod was shutdown shortly before Battlefield 2 was released.

Ahh yes BF1942:DC. What a great game and a great mod. SO many hours of flying choppers, planes, piloting tanks and just trying to stay alive as long as possible. Great times.

Ironically, this mod got me into flight simulators like DCS. But, I had to unlearn all my bad habits. Still, this mod was by far the best that ever was and spent probably 2k hours playing it back in the day

wish some one would mod it to the 1942 game and upload that so you only copy and paist then send the icon to desktop and play, all modded. because when I install and mod it up to desert combat now, I get the screen of map vote that wont go away, I cant even find where its line of code is to delete it. What I loved about the desert combat mod was the choppers, they were so challenging to master that when you could, you became an ace. where you would dash to get the chopper and sometimes lose to another player who had less practise , so you would wait till they chrashed. desert combat had fast vehicle respawns, so the chopper was back in no time and then I was mine to fly, I flew as a medic so I could hover and heal my team players. So, can some one make this game easyer to install and play, I am sure if a dedicated server of cycling maps were on line to this great mod it would get a lot of classic players.
