depends on which jet you use. there are two types of jets in the "vanilla" edition of bf2. Fighter One seater jet with 6 air-to-air missiles and 2 bombs that has to be manually aimed and dropped Bomber Two seater jet (pilot & gunner). Pilot has 4 air-to-air missiles and 5 bombs that has to be manually aimed and dropped. Gunner has 9 or 12 air-to-ground missiles (laser guided) just have to lock the target and fire off, the missile should guide itself onto the target.

USMC jets are the best because almost 90% of the time bombings are precise when you align the top of the vertical line to the target you're wanting to bomb.

I'm glad you have figured out your control style ;) And yeah, that is a fact that I forgot to include in the movie. The U.S jet have more space between each bomb... If you dont go deep enough. If you try to use the U.S F-35/F-18 and go high up in the air, then stoop down in a deep angel the bombs will hit alot more "in center". The mec bomber, acctualy, all the bombers are very easy to hit with, it's just the fighters that are hard, especially the mec fighter.

When you get into the jet, press F to switch to bomb mode. Then you right click to drop them.

I read every comment I get, don't worry about that ;) But no. The US jets have a different HUD than the MEC jets, and they have different speed, etc. So the bombing points wont be the same.

When I made this tutorial I used a mouse and keyboard. It is simple, and it doesn't take much training to use. Now I have a Cyborg Evo Force joystick which I use when I fly in BF2 and it's alot better than using a mouse and keyboard, it just takes more practice. ( That's a nice joystick btw)

To get a better clustering of the 2 bombs you need a bit steeper angle of attack. This will change the aiming for the F18 to 1/4 of the scale in stead of 1/2. For the J10 from 1 to 2/3. Keeping plane on target and level while releasing is key.

Well one good tip to get both bombs on a target is to change your aircraft's attack angle when you release the bomb. For example, after the first bomb, you lower your nose a bit to ensure that the cross hair is on the target just before the second one is released. This is good for taking out tanks.

slow down and balance between rate of descend and your speed.. i use mouse too, just make sure you are not going from high speed to low speed very quickly

I have a Joystick, it's awesome to use for dogfights, since you can get some very fast turns... However, I use the mouse and keyboard because my aim with the machinegun/bombs gets better then because it's much easier to keep the plane stable with the mouse :)

This video was very helpful thanks. There are a lot of comments to read through so I thought I would just ask... do you fly using a keyboard/mouse OR a joystick? I plugged in a HOTAS COUGAR today which felt a bit like overkill as it is a monster joystick and throttle. But I am hoping it will improve piloting in BF2. Then again, I kind of like the simplicity of the keyboard and mouse. Any comments from experienced pilots welcome on this issue :-)

Well, if you come in from a steep angle (dive bombing) you will get a pinpoint accurate strike with high damage since the bombs will hit at exactly the same spot, but if you come in from a more flat angle the bombs will fly away from eachother and hit two spots. I'm planning on making another tutorial about these things, but I'm not sure if I should yet ;)

If you take off right forward, people can stand infront of the jet so that you drive over them, you will then get a teamkill for driving over that person. However, if you hover you won't hit anyone standing infront you !

tyler, you use the HUD to aim when delivering bombs. Author of the video shows this in the intro by marking a white X on the HUD of the F-18 Hornet. However, I'm pretty sure he has it wrong. He put the white X between the center and the upside down arc. AFAIK it should be where the vertical line meets the upside down arc. Depending on your ping, you might have to release the bombs earlier (where he put the X). It also takes into consideration the momentum of the jet

ping is your lag, or your connection, you want it to be low because that means you dont have a bad connection, this can be fixed by playing on servers that are relatively close to your location, or by getting a better internet connection

Kinda, they have the same UI, but the speed of the jets are different, so bombing with them is slightly different.

Ok. First, take off. Then drop your bombs somewhere, then fly over your airfield quickly so that you only load one bomb. Then drop that bomb, and go back to your airfield and re-arm your two bombs. You will then only drop one bomb each time you fire.

The J-10 is the fastest/most manuverable aircraft, so I sugest to fly the J-10 as it can go 1380mph without AfterBurner.

i fly until 500 meters and then dive into the target, but you should't overpass the 1200 km/h (or mph i don't know what kind of speed uses the game) or you will crash with a tree or something

I use a joystick with throttle control so I can slow right down. This works well for bombing but now I know where to aim I will try it at full speed.

basicly wen the top end of the vertical green line hit the objective release the bombs and pull up... for best result aproach target at 45 degress not going less than 700 of speed so both bombs drop spot on the objective. alrite!!!???

Hi Draxelzs, that's some nice flying with a mouse and keyboard. I have just started using my HOTAS and it is taking some practice. I think I might be able to fly with more precision though. Especially sustaining a turn in a dogfight - you can simply pull back on the stick, instead of rolling the mouse repeatedly. So I think I'll stick with it. The Evo is great I like the look of it - very futuristic looking. I'm just going to practice bombing from your video thanks.

It's a glitch. You can do it with the fighters too. This glitch happens when you fly over the airstrip to reload all the bombs and you only get a partial refill of bombs. i.e.: if you fly over the USS Essex with an F35B and you only refill one bomb--even if you drop that and refill all the bombs, you will still be in single bomb mode. =[ It's not a bad glitch tho.

as for moving targets: i agree that is based on the feeling (wich i do have :D ) but only for fighters. for striker fighters it is easy specially if you level bomb instead of dive bomb so you make kinda of a carpet bombing. if you learn the prorper speed and altitude you can use the same aim you use on your vid (actually thats the same aim i use)

True, but bombing moving targets is hard to teach, it's more of a feeling for when to drop the bombs ;) Besides, bombing still targets is very important to learn so you can stop camping tanks, etc.
