Battlefield 2042 just added some Insane Easter Eggs...

Dude, was playing a game today on spearhead and just randomly saw this massive explosion during a massive gunfight push and it was stunning, absolutely beautiful. Didn't know what it was but now I do. Battlefield has so much more potential locked away. It reminded me so much of the V1 from BFV but man, in 2042, that looked so much better and the effects were stunning. Probably one of the best explosions I've seen in a game

They dig into the game files and basically reverse engineer it

@@MarcoChurchH that or brute force it with sheer numbers. its a trick elite dangerous players have to use as frontier like running obscure quests (basically easter egg hunts) that have you go to a few specific systems, out of millions, to find something. they at least give you a general area of the galaxy to search :V but still, only way to solve is with many people all noting where theyve checked. i imagine BF easter egg hunters do a combination of both.

This was an actual feature in BF4. Commanders could decide where the missile went/was shot. Now all we get are pathetic easter eggs.

The way the cruise missile blew up was similar to a thermobaric, first stage released gasoline and fuel into the air, then the missile drills into the target and the fuel ignites in a fiery explosion

Someone figured out the Exposure Easter egg, plus one more on Breakaway for a card and skin for Angel. The Exposure Easter egg was hard though. Gotta use Rao, then find a small, almost invisible box on a cliff, and hack it to open it. The rest was easy, but getting that box on the cliff took me like 2 hours. First to find it, then to land on it. The Breakaway Easter egg is 2 parts and the simplest of them all.

Don't know about "Insane" but it's definitely nice to get some new easter eggs to hunt down. EE's are one of my favourite things about the BF games. Would love to see more difficult ones like decoding morse code like in BF1 and skins or rewards that are exclusive to completing the EE's

This is exactly the latent potential that battlefield 2042 has to offer, deep and intriguing story coupled with stunning and invigorating visuals and sound effects. To me, BF2042 has the highest potential out of any game currently out at the moment, the devs just need to harness it.

I tried the game out recently. When you can get into a match, it is insanely more fun than it used to be. However, that comes with a huge asterisk. Half the time, it puts you in an empty lobby with 0 players and makes you wait for it to fill. Then when you try to back out of said lobby, it takes close to a minute to GO BACK TO MENU. The quality of life is so abysmal, you can’t change squads, you can’t even see what map you’re being queued into before you’re already queued, the UI in general feels very clunky and amateur (just look at the squads and team screen). Thing is, these problems did not exist in the past Battlefield and it’s despicable that people are calling this a comeback when even Battlefield Hardline is a better and more complete experience than this.
