saying you have to fire them a few seconds before the rocket hits you is a bit of a stupid move... You dont know how far away the guy was that fired it so it could hit you at any time so really, you dont know when its a few seconds away from hitting you... also, flying low to avoid them does work but its not always because the rocket will hit something else like a tree etc. you are below radar and mix that with ecm jammer, it throws the missiles lock completely

I wondered this also, but now I know. What I do is use logic. Notice that when you lock a jet with a stinger it will fly past the jet coming towards you before it flips around and chases it. So when you get locked, count 1 steamboat 2 then pop ECM. Then fly low to the ground and scissor or barrel roll. With heatseekers if you turn towards the lock and pass them the lock will go away without even popping ECM.

situational awareness, that's how :) if it beeps too much and not fires, its either an empty igla or a soflam... and if there are jets or choppers around take a look at your air radar, if they are pointing towards you, its them.. if not, its something from the ground :)

You could also dodge those missiles without using anything but maneuvers. I like to fly upside down while being targetted by someone with missiles then pull up, going upright and dodging the missile, you have to do it a short time after the missile is fired

@nOMC your right if you see the missle and its mildly far from you go close to the ground and afterburn. javelins go around 400 KMH? on the game and ive hit 450KMH in a dive and i stay around 412KMH going straight.

I normally just yaw either left or right whilst looking behind with free look and ECM when the missile is getting pretty close.

i have a question. why did you not explain how to do what happened at 3:30? as the stinger was shot he used ECM but he didnt get close to the ground, yet, the stinger still blew up

How did the stinger missile blow up in mid-air next to you at 3:21 instead of it colliding in to the ground? Was that luck or does that always happen if you pop the ecm a second before it hits you?

Actually the best way to dodge javelins is to afterburn and start yawing. The missile will explode before hitting you. Works 100% of the time.

Use afterburners then yaw to either left or right to dodge Javelins. It works 100% Just watch enemy on your tail

look closely .... it didn't hit him, it just blew right beside his cockpit, he was not hit by the stinger.. the worse that could have happened to him is that he would have his ears pop out with a loud bang.. that's all !

When somebody shoots two heat seekers at once at me i activate the ecm and then totally escalate with doing loopings scissors immelmanns etc. And i dont know why but it actually works and most of the time none of these two missiles actually hit me!
