i agree with fakethriller. this gun is meant for frags. I mostly use it to piss off campers as a suppression hose. Before the latest patch, it was really effective, but i haven't used it since.

Another great video guys. Still waiting for my screen name to come up on your kill list, haven't seen it so far, sweet! Seriously, you guys have one of the best channels. While you take your work seriously, you don't take yourselves so seriously and like to have a good time with the games. Some other channels are divisive and condescend to other gamers that don't see it the same way. Sure, the gaming world is not perfect but it's video games enjoy them. Don't lose site of that on your channel!

This gun kicks ass in TDM (especially Noshahr Canals), due to the fact that it is still very powerful at close range, can be reloaded on the run, and that its reloads can be interrupted instantly (unlike magazine fed shotguns). This gun is a niche gun, its dominant if applied to the correct play style.

I find it an absolute beast in close quarters and find it has good medium range using the 2 round burst. Favourite gun in the game by far. That or the SG553! I used to play RSV/2, brings back happy memories of the 552 from there and honestly I can't wait to unlock it and try it out :D Good luck with the rest of your vids :)

I'd love to see you guys review the QBB-95. As far as the DAO-12, I agree that it's pretty much all over the place. In one exchange I can butcher the guy or guys on the other end of my barrel, and in the very next fight get swiss cheesed by guns with higher fire rates. As much as I hate Frag Rounds, they're pretty much a must to have any success with the DAO.

Nice vid.I first used the UMP did well for my first time. 2nd gun was AEK Loved it pre patch not post patch. So I started to realize I always get the drop first on an enemy but because I am not so good with the toggle stick I decided to give the DAO12 a try and it fit my game well because I am good at knowing what the enemy is going to do. I wish they would make a gun controler that would give us smart players the reality & reward and satisfaction we deserve for aiming down an enemy first!

the DAO is actually pretty boss, but if you play with it correctly its actually pretty beast, i like running with it on Crossings,Cannals, and Metro, with no sights and Fetch rounds, i feel as though mixed with the Support class with g18 or REvolver its a great combo

I have the most shotgun kills with the DAO, but my fav will always be the 870 and the SPAS-12.

Back on topic, a good review guys - people forget that your job is to relay information and let them make up their own mind as to whether a gun/attachment is OP. This gun certainly doesn't fall into that category though, it's way too inconsistent. Even with frag ammo it would lose to the USAS every time, and most other weapons come to think of it unless you flank properly.

I agree, I recently started using it at Close Quarters maps and it owns :) Just have to find a safe spot to reload, because it takes forever.

This gun has changed since then. I used it for the first time a couple days ago, and I first thought it was overpowered. But there's a balancing factor to it that makes it a fair weapon. A full reload will require your soldier to manually wind back the chamber (a rather long process). I give DAO-12 a 4 out of 5.

Try using the DAO with frag rounds. It becomes a semi-auto grenade launcher, and it even resembles one.

@AAlpineAddict the physical warfare package has been made free to download from the PSN/Xbox store and presumably through origin on PC. BTW you're really not missing out on much. The type 88 is by far the worst lmg in the game and you also get flachettes for dao12 (the gun comes with the vanilla game) and a flash suppressor for the SKS.

I can't help but notice the spread with buckshot on this gun seems to be very narrow with this gun. I seem to get kills with it from like 20-30 meters within 2-3 shots as long as my red dot sight is directly on them.

The DAO is my second favorite shot, while using frag rounds you aim for the feet, and you get a two shot kill most of the time

Agreed, when I first discovered shotguns I only wanted to use this weapon on Nosharhr Canals TDM. I ended up getting 80 kills on one of my first games using this gun.

I use the DAO-12 with Reflex (RDS) Slugs. With the Mp443 TACT. on the SUPPORT class for when i need ammo. Total boss on the Nosahr Canals.

I find the DAO-12 very good Iron sights, Flash Suppressor, and Slug rounds. Very devastating. Could also work with an optic. I've used it with Holo, Acog, M145, IRNV, and 6x scope.

Can you guys do the P90 next? It's a decent close-medium range (better at medium), has a large enough mag to drop an average of 3-4 guys per mag, but suffers power wise at point blank range due to low damage. I recommend the Flash Suppresor, Laser, and Russian 3.4x Scope.It's rare for me to use it on a PDW, but since the latest patch, the P90 has very low initial recoil, allowing for longer range bursts.

You guys did not say anything about the slug rounds you can use with the dao-12. With it, I found that the shotgun performed a lot like a oversized revolver but with faster fire rate and less recoil than what you get from the .44 magnum. That being said, the slug rounds are less consistent than the .44 magnum's shots. It sounds weird to compare a shotgun with a revolver, but once you get past the "shotgun playstyle factor" you'll find that you have a pretty nice weapon. And I love the reviews!

I don't know if i agree with you guys on this one. Shotguns are all over the place? MK3A1 and USAS 12 compete against each other, 870 and SPAS 12 as well (I know the SPAS 12 wasn't in BF3 yet), and all the semi auto shotguns are compete against each other.

fair review, this shotgun has its moments, but not many, only on CQ maps like Op Metro and Sinein Crossing i feel this shotgun shows its strength, but on all the wide open maps its tough to use unless using frag rounds (as much as i hate them) or the slug rounds

I don't linke 12 Rounds for the DAO-12. Because of the cool reload mechanik you can reload after every enemy. I like the Laserpointer/ Taclight+ Flechet

Yeah, I have to agree with anita bath & Athill Sivapatham... last night I want 94-46 w/it... Maybe the reason you didn't like it is because you were playing longer range maps with it. Try Noshar shipping container w/Sprint (red dot/KOBRA w/extended mag) and see how you do.

I close quarters, this gun is amazing! With the low recoil and a smooth rate of fire (when I fire it, it feels smooth an accurate), the gun is a five star. Guns like the M1014 is a spray gun.

Wow... I thought this was one of the better shotties and SUCK with them. It's always interesting to see how different people fare with different guns. I was never good with FAMAS either but I do really well with the SCAR-H, another gun you scored low with.

I know that the dao has eeally short range but if u use laser pointer and flecette rounds it is the ultimate weapon on short range maps, i got 106 kills in 1 game with it using this combo
