Yeah not excited about it at all, sad to see it at this point. But tired of all the deceit and the game plays terrible. If the gun play isn’t good dose not matter what the maps are.

That's not a war crime, its after the pilot bails and Dave continues to shoot then it's a warcrime. But then again the Japanese didnt care about the Geneva convention so.

Conquest as the Japanese is impossible because their vehicles are dependent on the objectives they hold so if the Americans capture c and d they control all 6 of the planes on the map as well as the Americans start with 4 LTVs and the Japanese get 2 tanks and one Ka-Mi shows the bad balance of the map. It's made worse with the 3d spotting when pilots use the spotting scope because you are always spotted. I want to love the map not just for how it looks but also how it plays but I can't with the way bfv works.

Well the Japanese start with 4 planes so if they use them well tank power doesn't really matter

Breakthrough on this map makes it more balanced I think it plays well on conquest too tbh

The game gets a lot of grief about realism/history and so on, but then there are details like the radar pod on the wingtip on the Corsair because Dave equipped air radar. Pretty cool.

Um for your immersion the Americans were defending wake island in ww2 and never went back to capture it after Japan took it. It is kind of weird that they did this.

The map feels great. Thb I didn't liked wake island that much in 1942,bf2 or even bf3 but in bfv its awesome. Lots of cover, flanking routes and impressive locations and finally there is some sandbox feeling back. Can't wait for the next patch that fixes the gunplay but I am thankful for this map

I had a great second game going 32-2 in a plane. A lot of dogfights in that game which was quite fun. Not a whole lot of kills but several plane kills which is what made it great. The amount of good pilots there were in the game made it feel challenging at the same time, yet still fun. I also got a huge amount of tank and Jeep kills with the at mines and 500 pounders. I’m still enjoying the update on the ground as well even though at times the guns feel weak. I also found a little glitch where my plane would auto repair whenever it was ready without having any turn slowdown at all. It was a little OP but I still got my fair share of damage taken.

No… I can't complete the Tides objectives... every time I play on Wake Island, I get the worst team, they cannot attack or defend objectives... meanwhile I'm struggling to get to the objectives, or getting out of my spawn when I'm on the defending team. The TTK change just made everyone camp, and afraid to use anything but a fucking sniper rifle. I took me 8 matches to get 3 kills attacking/defending objectives... the FIRST challenge in Tides this week... that says so much about the current playerbase. No I'm not bad at the game, when I'm the ONLY one trying to play the fucking game the way it was made, then it seems like I'm bad.

I personally really preferred the breakthrough mode. Felt even and I liked the loop around the island as we pushed forward on attack especially. I like conquest too tho, both work. A great map added to the game. Now hopefully the compromise in ttyl stuff they talked about will make thing better, even slowly as long as it is fixed!

3:10 that's not a war crime. If the pilot bails, that signifies surrender in ww2. If you shoot the pilot as he bails that's a war crime

great vids Dave. But anno 2023 in BF5 plains are still way to OP and footsoldiers barely do any dmg against tanks. And DICE/EA is just crazy non responsive against hackers. Speedhacks, pure aimbots shooting from across the map HS all the time and nothing has been done against em (still). There prolly will never be done something against it anymore either. And I do truly love this game.

I’ve lost all but one out of all the matches I’ve played today, and I’ve been playing since I woke up early this morning. I don’t know why, but I don’t really enjoy this iteration of the map. Maybe it’s the terrible team balancing, but I just can’t seem to have fun on this map.

Thank you for these videos RangerDave. I really enjoy them. Unfortunately these new battlefield games just miss the mark. Too much call of duty and ADD, 10ft room map, spaz pogostick combat is the way the kids like to play games these days. Oh and it better be photorealistic and playable at 8k resolution on a nintendo switch. I was hoping to say this video brought back memories but it just doesn't. It's lots of flashy stuff, which is cool, but it doesn't have that flavor. In its own right this is a nice game but the amount of vehicles and pacing of BF1942 just felt right. Its so weird to say it felt more realistic even though the graphics and animation would be laughable in todays market. I have alot of my plate work wise but when I get a chance I might start making texture and animation mods for BF1942 and maybe host some servers just outside the US so that people can enjoy what I got to enjoy and see what I am talking about. Nothing like a scout laying a camera on an entrenched base and me firing the 9 guns across the map to supress and take out the enemy team. Want to cry about it? Get in a plane or another ship and go take out the battleship. You HAVE to coordinate in BF1942. To this day Desert Combat is still THE best modern combat game. DICE did so many things right when they started out.

Dude. This is in the pacific. The pacific is bright, not dark. Do you think it’s going to have the colour palate of Devastation. No, of course it won’t. The movements speed looks faster because of FOV. This map isn’t even that bright. Pacific storm is a more bright map.
