In Battlefield Recovery, we created REAL graves which can be visited to this day. Archaeologists dig up graves and parade the corpses within museums. Who maintains the correct ‘ethic’ is wholly subjective, but it’s not worth losing your job, business or life over....right?

Sorry I commented during , yes it is unfortunate that TV networks care about 2 things ratings, 💰 and when the ratings go so does the show. Also I was born in 73 and I have seen the decline in society as a whole when it comes to , compassion , caring, honest felling , the elder people in my family are all gone now and I wish I would have asked more questions and just talked to them about true life historically speaking they were more true , honest , caring , compassionate like the man you described , I have tried to keep that value going and show it to my kids my great uncle fought in WW2 ,a Marine on IwoJima he still hobbled round with shrapnel in his leg until the end , but he was one of the Greatest Generation !!! So yes try to talk to these people of a generation dissapearing I don't know how but you have my support so there's one vote Brother , so take care and have another fine lager to get the rest of the bad taste from the past out of your mouth , you have a great family and still sucking wind lolololol Laters Folk 👌👌👌😷😷😷

I am a former British soldier I am now long since out of the army in 2008 and am now studying military history at university or at least I was meant to be (covid) I was shocked when I saw that program I thought it was needless disturbance of war graves and vile removal of War trophies and the reason I came here today to write this post was to criticize you and the show however having watched your video (and spoken to my little brother who in a random coincidence follows you) I apologise for coming here to do that it's obvious you are a decent human being and you were treated horrendously. I watched one episode of Battlefield recovery and I loved it. I am world war history nut. My great grandfather was a captain in the Dutch resistance. I feel we need to tell their stories. I am appalled at the TV world. What you went through is horse shit. I for one get so excited to dig up history, I love to share the story with the finds to put a name to relic. I am not a treasure detectorist. I love old homesites and doing the research as to who lived here at what time. That is what saving history is all about. Thank you for facing the bodies of mother and child, their souls will one day thank you. For 75 years they didn’t have a voice, now they do. The brutality of it all is sickening but it needs to be told. In all that has happened, you shared your story and I hope others will hear and start to stand up against the abuse that networks are dishing out.

So, I just discovered the show AND this--and first off, I thought the show was amazing. I REALLY enjoyed it and was completely bummed that it was only a few episodes. I'm heartbroken at the way you were treated, though, because the work you did was important. Big corporations--just like the media--love a good scandal. They love bad publicity because they think any publicity, good or bad, is good publicity. They make money, the average guy gets screwed. My grandpa was in WWII, part of the American Signal Corps stationed in France, Germany, England, and Belgium and he would NEVER talk about it. Keep doing what you're doing because 1) you're incredibly talented and what you do is important work and 2) I'll bring a cooler with water/beer/snacks on an epic KZbin trip to Latvia, and 3) every artifact out there has a story and those stories need to be told. Only the very best to you, my friend! You crowdsource a project? Count me in!

Kris, I work in the "it's all gone to shit lets call these guys out sector" and have been to many a job that the media turn up to, when you watch it on the news later, it is very sensationalized and usually not really what happened, its all to sell more advertising space and make more $$$. I stopped watching the news ages ago. I only started detecting a couple of months ago, it does get very "addicted to bleeps", great title by the way. It's F#$%ed what happened to you, glad you are coming out of the other side now mate. Chin up and keep doing your thing, it is appreciated.

Dude, I’m not a hug person at all but watching this really made me want to reach through the iPad I watched it on and give you a hug. I experienced the world of television myself through my job and know exactly where your coming from and how these people are, I was lucky though as they messed up by waiting till after recording before asking me to sign the release which I didn’t sign and they had other footage so they didnt need me in it. They would try to bribe me with gifts and things during recording to try to make me say things that were untrue and subsequently could get me fired because in saying want they wanted would have looked bad for the company I worked for at the time. I didn’t accept anything from them myself but I saw how they manipulate people and although the footage they had of me was honest I didn’t want them to use it or edit it in some way to make me look bad hence why I didn’t sign the release. I admire your honesty and I’m really glad you cleared up the Craig thing of him being seen on the show differently to how he is in life as I didn’t recognise some of my colleagues when the show aired. I hope you do get a chance to go back yourself or maybe even try and find some local stories first and put them up on your channel it would be really interesting

Great video Chris. I am a member of (Irish Metal Detecting Society) We have been campaigning for a change in the law (The republic) as we are not allowed to search for an archeological object...fair enough, as it is the law. (The archeologists wont give us a definition on what an archeological object is ???) It could include 19th century things. If we were to find an historical object by accident and "excavate" it, we have commited 2 crimes...each with a max fine of 64k....it s madness

Watching this series I had the feeling that it somehow try justify german nazis soldiers for war crimes etc.... You guys seem to be super excited when finding the remains of nazis.. but where it came to russians it was just like "ehh another russian guy". Same to the mass grave in Poland - trying to blame Poles for killing civilians.. really? You cant even tell what happend there back then and who killed those people under what circumstances. Is anyone else watching this had the same feeling? I agree with remains repatriation - It's great - but the way this series show its a joke. This is nothing personal to you Kris - your video explains a lot.

Whoa! The Poles DID kill the civilians. It’s all heavily documented. The Polish lady (Sophia) who told us about the spot watched her husband dig the grave, and saw the violence herself. Our guide also witnessed it all as a child. The whole village of Polish people are haunted by the experience, and the repatriation of the mass grave into the graveyard next to them brought them closure. THEY wanted this cleaned up, and acknowledge their violent past. This happened all over Poland when the civilians wanted their homes back. There are many mass graves of German women and children all over those part. Also, we must remember that not every German soldier was a Nazi, right? If they refused to fight they’d be murdered as traitors. Young men had no choice but to fight under the Nazi regime. Were they true Nazis at 16, 17, 18 etc? I doubt it. I think they’d probably prefer spending their time being young and free, getting drunk with their mates and meeting girls, rather than being forced to lose their lives on a madman’s fascist dream. Of course in the instance of the SS, it’s a lot different. They WANTED to be good Nazis. There’s a big difference there. In the instance of the Russian soldiers, it’s harder to feel ‘close’ to them as they never had dog tags. It’s really sad as they’ll always be in un-named graves, where we could often get the names of the German soldiers and could even contact their family. It’d be the same with the Russians if we had their details via that dog tag.

Having said all that I did feel uncomfortable about the ‘Max’ episode. Where we were trying to find the body of the SS soldier. On hindsight, I regret that. He was an absolute full on Nazi. I just went with it and shouldn’t have.
