Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Pre-Order Beta 2 begins January 15 - new trailer reveals everything you need to know about the campaigns.
Stunning space RTS sequel Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 launches January 24, 2019, bringing all the chaos and destruction of Warhammer 40,000 fleet battles to PC. On top of skirmish and multiplayer, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 comes with three full grand campaigns letting you control humanity’s combined Imperial forces, the ancient re-awakening Necron empire, or the ravenous extra-galactic horde of the Tyranid Hive Fleets. Our new campaign trailer breaks down every facet of the 100+ hours that can easily be spent in Armada 2’s single-player offerings. Every campaign is also playable in co-op, with two players controlling a split fleet in each battle.
Also announced today is the second pre-order beta, running January 15 up until launch. This will be your first chance to go hands-on with the campaigns as the first sectors of the Imperial and Necron storylines will be available to play. This second beta will also feature all the multiplayer and skirmish options, including the 12 playable factions, the 80+ subfactions, ranked play, custom map options with special environmental effects from the first beta, updated with brand new balance adjustments and bug fixes.

@@elbromas9472 Well in 40k lore the Tau didnt wander far from the Damokles Gulf, which lies in the Ultima Segmentum of the the Galaxy. The Campaign seems to be centered around the Eye of Terror, which is on the opposite side of the Galaxy. So for them to show up would be unlikely

At one point early on they said they'd like to make more campaigns as DLC, and more recently they said that post-launch DLC support will depend on how successful the game is. Hope remains yet!

It is very similar, probably easiest to compare it to empire at war, with an added coop mode and no boring ground battles.

It looks like they are going towards that direction. I guess its not a campaign for all races because each campaign seems to have a lot more story focus and script than in a game like TW: Warhammer. Of course would be great to see more campaigns down the line for Eldar, Chaos, Orcs, Tau and/or Dark Eldar.

@NicolBolas2 My problem with them is that their story is kind of tricky to implement, they are not supposed to have any personality or complicated story, because that the way the 'nid are. But without breaking the lore and giving them personality, their campaign will basically be "let's nom everything". So their campaign would either be boring or immersive-breaking I can live with the way FI said they are going to implement their story, that's ingenious and I can't wait to see how that will turn out

I have to say, I think it's really great that they are giving a discount to people who already own the first game. I wish more companies, not just in video games but in general, would do such things.
