I have not seen much good from gw modernizing games, its like they half do the job. I would bebinterested in a re-release though, as I completely missed this game.

@@horhevamp8890 original Necromunda rules were far superior, and didn't need an additional rulebook to play in 3D, different gang books and overpriced cards, plus progression was better. Kill Team was always trash. Titanicus looks pretty cool but I would have preferred a full Epic Armageddon style reboot so that it included all the different types of 40K units, including different races, and not just overpriced titans.

@@tyrannosaurus696 Epic was terrible because it started with titans but well... when you have small stuff that can hit many small stuff who cares about big stuff... The reason folks play Epic is to play the things you CANT play in 40k. I can already play Apocalypse though so I dont need to play Epic outside of mostly Titans... hence... Titanicus. We disagree on Kill team. We also disagree on Necromunda. In fact, unlike Mordheim and Blood Bowl and BFG, noone really played Necromunda after it died... which goes to show how... good it was. Right now, Necromunda has more people playing it than ever before...

First off, solid paint job on the Imperials. The red stripe on the Cobra's are crisp. Secondly, didn't come up on this game because he disengaged, but I believe the FAQ states that torps which end in base contact do not re-engage the ship again when either the torps or ship moves to break contact in subsequent phases. Makes shooting torps from behind an opponent so any remaining from the salvo are directly in front of the enemy vessel the real meta-strat. It also fits theatrically/lore wise to the tactics in-universe for torpedoes.

Torpedoes should have diced for damage travelling through blast markers,the same as fighters/bombers and boarding craft.

Orders first, then move your ship. Not the other way around since orders affect movement speed/turns and what not

Should get a gam where you can get some Battle Cruisers and Grand cruisers involved. Always been a huge fan of the Mars for its fleet support abilities and the grand cruiser the only way Chaos other than the one destroyer model you get ordnance.

Don't torpedoes automatically detonate if they connect will a planet? The Cobra's salvo shouldn't have made it as far as I remember.

Awesome to see more BFG! I think you found out in this game that Escorts aren't really good at doing what they seem they should do, which is to range ahead of the main fleet. They will just get pulverized once some Cruisers catch up to them, and losing even just one Escort means the entire squadron is affected. Instead, it's good to use them in these sort of scenarios as a sort of "shoal", just hiding in the wake of the bigger ships and then darting forward to devastating effect with all their speed and their pretty heavy firepower.

Naval warfare for 40k was, like much of 40k, based off of 17-18th century concepts. A first, second, or third rate ship of the line was a true warship, which would be anything cruiser and larger (Battleship, Grand/Battle Cruiser, and Cruiser). 4th rate would be equivalent to a Light Cruiser, which the IoM primarily relegated to patrols and scouting, and was considered a ship of the line until 1756 where it was deemed to carry too little firepower to participate in pitched battles. 5th rate are your Frigates, and 6th your Raiders. It was considered "ungentlemanly" for a "proper" ship of the line (Rates 1-3) to fire upon a 5th or 6th Rate ship without them first being fired upon by them. Given that this was still the era where your officers were comprised of petty nobility and aristocracy, they would actually hold to this decorum. It would be fair to assume that most Imperial and Chaos captains would hold to that mindset still, as there is hardly any glory to be gained in going after the escorts when a capital ship is there.

13:33 - cant do any special orders in the round after bracing so that ship couldn't have locked on plus firepower and speed halved. What was the point of disengaging if the Chaos player was already losing?

Fwiw, Armament half for brace but speed is 1/2 to full so he'd be at 30-5cm for that turn. Definitely should not have been able to lock on though

@Guerrilla Miniature Games Does anyone know how many dices or special order dices can be used at the same time on a ship? i would like to design some flying bases to keep dices within the ship. Also, what rules are they playing with? old ones or new XR ones?

Sadly no but they hurt like heck when they hit. Same with bombers or assault boats.

Nope. (Eldar torps always re-roll misses but that's separate from lock on).
