Great video. Not used my Flesh Tearers fleet in game yet so nice to get some fleet building ideas for when they get some action. A good future video topic may be which ships are most viable to take as Venerable Battlebarges (Styx is just too obvious)?

A little bit of development commentary: The Nova has, some might say, a faster speed than it should. The reason for the 35cm speed instead of the more mundane 30cm is, well, it looks faster than the Gladius! 🙃 (I kid you not) Also worthy of note (it's relatively well known), Space marines were originally going to be in the bluebook. The original models were the Emperor Battleship as the Battle Barge (ever wondered why it has a prow covered in guns unlike every other imperial capital ship?) and the Dauntless torpedo variant as the Strike cruiser (notice how both the emperor and dauntless variant have skulls on the prows rather than eagles).

It only just occurred to me that this might be why the Emperor had the option of assault boats (unique in the imperial fleet at the time).

I've run "oops all escorts" with marines in the past, the suprising "durability" of the gladius can make for some hilarious fun, especially when combined with the l/f/r lances of a couple squadrons of novas. In no way competitive, but it did throw my buddy for a loop the first time lol

sm dont have enough options to do anything well than thunderhawk and bombarding. thats sad, because they can field ships they dont care about, same problem have chaos fleets. for thunderhawk actions the styx and despoiler/battlebarge standout. gunships are sometimes fluffy but really lonely in sm fleets. i like the idea in general, because sm needed to engage, bombard and set up troops fast in most legions, most bigger ships are able to transport troops, but putting them onto the battlefield is faster through dedicated hangar systems. cheaping out on expensive sm escorts and taking the imperials for a discount isnt the worst idea, a noteable option to squeeze more needed ships in.
