The original BF had some maps that were really good places to chill. Bespin Platforms was a symmetrical map that had an intermediate corridor of death, outside of which you could watch two teams of bots annihilate each other; alternatively, you could wade in and either win it or lose it for your side. Rhen Var Harbor was a great place to watch vehicles get blown up. The offline modes of the original BF and BF2 were very entertaining, sorta like watching sports or KZbinrs, and you could join in when you wanted. Back then droidekas were mini-tanks - truly frightening, and nothing like the weak, play-balanced creatures you see today.
