Dunno if you read comments but some things I've noticed are as follows. -Team wipes are common I'd recommend looking at ships before the battle starts and balancing skill and the ships into teams that make the battle more interesting. -The battles are big enough that you're missing a lot of the action that's happening at any given point in time. I'd recommend decreasing the number of ships and/or players per fight to help keep said fights less difficult to show off. Additionally, if you're worried about not everybody getting to participate, you could decrease the size and time limit of the fights for more of them to ensure everybody who wants to participate can. At the end of the day it's you're channel your content, and I can't say much on rule balance due to my inexperience with the game itself, however I hope you at least take some of these points into consideration as I believe they would help the videos you make be of higher quality.

I agree with this comment, as a humble, random viewer. Reducing the number of ships could also reduce the probability of someone lagging hard.

Yeah as one of the players on this team that got "wiped" I have to agree. Although tbf before the battle began we were all pretty happy w/ the teams and weren't too worried about balance. But from a viewer perspective I definitely think reshuffling the teams each game would make it more interesting as I do believe me and double were on the same team each time. Which I can see being boring after a while.

it is very difficult to keep track of the fights, the upcoming video has mostly matches with four players divided into two teams and one or two ships per. lemme know what you think when you see it

I was fiddling with making a small worm ship that can stick to the sides of big ships and drill inside. Mining lasers just kind of suck at damaging ships, they do insane damage against asteroids though. But yeah, they take the same space for less damage versus an ion emitter, so you're better off with ion emitters or something else.

As one of the players that went against him... yeah hes really good. Theoretically our ships were equal but I have to hand it to blaze for just being the goat

There are too much ship core-outs, cool moves and interesting interactions that happen right there on the screen and not mentioned or picked up by you.. youve got a great thing going here so i wish you would take a more serious approach when narrating. Also what about mixing in some small tournies or special objective mods to keep the videos varied? Keep it up!

check out SarisWinterwisp as well, he organizes the tourneys and is a *very* good player, his avoiders are glorious to see he also made quite a few of the basegame ships

Oh and that rail spinner at the end was an unfinished design without enough control points to move which was really annoying

That marvelous-looking ion ship at the beginning ? I was skeptical of its efficiency at first sight, but lord was it beautiful. A shame it was used for war. You should only use such things to parade or destroy some planets. :p

Can we ban base game ships above 1mil? I would argue that Imperium ships (and basegame ships in general) are rather well designed, and if we’re playing with nonmeta ships, basegame ships would disadvantage the freebuilding creative people. Much better to see people duke each other out with their own creations, than to steamroll with something straight from career mode

Prioritize the bigger battles please! I wanted to see Odysseus (3mil imperium base ship) versus railkite, but kept getting action on 2 heavily-shielded rail spinners slapping each other. Railkite's volleys almost guarantee something exploding, which is fun to look at.

Is it me or has the least fun part of cosmoteer always been the lack of control of the ships? Even experienced players seem to be furustatingly unable to accurately steer the ships to make them be effective at battling each other, get stuck, move out of contol to miss the targeting. half of the time its fun to see which designs work wel agains each other, but the other half of the time it makes me cringe to see the controlling, knowing that it was so frustrating when i played it a few years ago, and that it seems still be like this.

at higher levels, there's some really well-piloted ships SarisWinterwisp (he has a yt channel too) with his Eidolon avoider is a beauty to see piloted i actually played against it recently, and it is deadly

asteroids doesnt matter , maybe mix the teams more so not only the good ones play against the noobs, kinda boring seeing one side winning with no effort lol at the beginning there was more action the last two episodes we have seen how one team devestates the enemy team without even getting srsly damaged

These videos may be a victim of your success, but more players/ships doesn't equal better content IMHO. We miss action and also it seems like you have a fair number of naive players or people that aren't playing logically to win... Be that from ship composition or by sitting out and preferring to "survive" longer by themselves or outside the red ring of death. Doesn't make them entertaining battles. One ship per player and encouraging active play would be preferable. Earlier brawls seemed to have that more than recent ones.

Well it's not as simple as that. You have to take into account that some of the players in this vid are really good. Best example is blaze and eno are both pro players that have had this game for years. Meanwhile although I can't speak for the other players this was my first time doing pvp in cosmoteer (I'm dalmationsgalore) and im not sure if the team balancing there. Although tbf before the games began we were all happy w/ the teams. I will be honest in saying that I didn't bring my A game (ffs I picked an unfinished ship design) and that's my fault. But pairing 2 pros against... well me probably didn't extend to an interesting battle to watch. On the other hand, I thought it was great fun participating and nothing was at stake. While again I can't speak for the other players I thought the battles were fine from a player perspective. They didn't feel unbalanced at the time but watching this now... yeah.

@@wildaviation5528. The main issue is battle size which increases risk of lag and makes tracking the action more difficult. Missing key showdowns or a decisive hit/turning point is a shame. On the player front, I slightly regret using the word "naive" in my comment, but your response is fair and some good counter points. Does overall probably reinforce my thoughts that the success of channel and new people joining the frey are up against it and, in some cases, significantly outmatched... On the odd occasion, it isn't an issue, but seems to have been slightly more regular in recent battles. That said, it isn't all negative... The content is generally entertaining and Cosmoteer is a great arena battle game for quick entertainment - this growing community clearly enjoys it and it is good that the 'combatants' are building a rapport and likely learning a lot from each other. Good stuff 👍 Perhaps we need to be tracking relative rivalries and such to add extra spice to the brawls 😁

@@wildaviation5528 also, I think you have given a good account of yourself in the battles - deploying a dud/work in progress ship here and there is all part of refining your pool. (You are significantly better than I would be, put it that way)

@@WonderWeezul yeah I get that. Lag was definitely more of an issue in the last battle as there was just so much going on. However I think the lag problem is mostly caused by internet. If you look at the player names on the top left when theres a big lag spike it is always one or two players having a shoddy connection. I think the best solution is honestly to be ruthless with poor internet connections. I know its harsh but you saw there that the game completely froze caused of blaze at one point (not any fault of his, happens to everyone) and then when tardi kicked him it got sorted out right away. Of course bigger battles are more fun in my opinion as a player because the bigger budget really allows for some extravagance and interesting designs. I hate swarms I hate swarms I hate swarms.. because if your given the cash I find it to be poor sportsmanship to just run tens of smaller low cost ships. Luckily I haven't really seen any in tardis games but going against them is horrid. Moving forward, yes I see your point about missing the action in one on one fights in bigger battles. But the big brawls could be kept and this problem eliminated if each player was allowed only one ship. A lot of fights occur between two different ships of the same player attacking two different ships of a different player etc so reducing the number of ships to 1 per would halve the problem of missing fights. Tbh idrk if any of what I said is valid but certainly this is a shame that a lot of the best bits are missed.
