This card game got gifted to me a few years ago lol but to make a long story short I found it cleaning out my garage early this year couldnt be bothered reading how to play but your video helped heaps now my kids love playing it and there grown Polynesian kids 😂😂

1. I think the instructions ment you take 1 red peg CARD away from the damaged ship, so like you can take of a 4 red peg card away from a damaged carrier when you use the power. 4:06 2. does the battleship ability also count to the White peg cards that damage the submarine? anyways thank you so much for helping to clarify this up for me :)

From the way I read it, the card says add one red peg to any red peg cards. To me, that means the submarine cannot be enhanced by this power. =^)

I have 2 questions. 1. What happens if 5 white peg cards are in hand after all boats and miss cards have been revealed? 2. Does the special ability of the battleship card (+1 attack) get cancelled on already played cards if the battleship is destroyed? Thanks for the video. We went straight into the game 👌

1. I'ld say discard one card and draw a new one, now your turn is over. Which is the same as shoot a white peg anyway and draw back up to 5.

What if we are in the start of the game. And we have a full hand of just Red Peg Cards and no White Pegs, Can we use Red Peg cards to use as White Peg Cards to reveal The other players ships? Or do we re-draw a new hand? Or can we discard our red peg cards to get new Cards?

We had the case where all 5 hand cards were shields and "trade white pegs" card (so no option of drawing 3 extra cards). No white or red peg cards. There were no ships revealed on the table. So the player couldn't play any card... Option 1: player skips turns untill a ship is revealed and he can play the shield and draw more cards. This seemed silly so we didn't do that. Option 2: player discards a card and draws a new one. His turn is over. Option 3: player can get rid of a shield on a closed grid card (maybe shielding a "miss"). But in this case you should be allowed to play the shield on a closed grid card anytime... which you probably wouldn't do, but just in principle. We went with choice of 2 & 3. What do you think 🙂

Do you think it would scale up in an interesting way? Like if you had 2 sets of cards, could you play 4 player ffa, or even 2v2?

I have thought about this! I think it would be very interesting to play a 2v2 match. I would play it with ship powers affecting both team members. I also think there is room for more ships, more power cards, and a bigger coordinate grid. I would like to see this game republished with smaller coordinate cards (2.5"x1.75") like Ticket to Ride's tickets. I think that would allow for a larger coordinate grid without making the game to big for most table spaces. I very much doubt Hasbro does anything more with this, but I would love to see a different company take the main mechanisms and apply it to a theme that works. For all I know, there might be a game just like what I am looking for already!

What if the ship has taken a 2 dm card and you repair it? Do you take out the 2 or take out the 2 and give it to the enemy and he places a 1 dm card

Thanks for the video! I have a couple of questions. Does the ship power for adding a peg (plus 1) apply to peg cards already in play or just the cards played after that ship is revealed? And when the ship is destroyed and that power gone with it, do any extra hits gained on ships not yet destroyed, lose that extra peg that was gained whilst that ship power was in play? Also, when repairing a ship… even though it can’t be used directly on a hit made to a shield, can it be used on a shielded ship that has hits on it ie, can you repair a damaged ship that is shielded? Thanks for your help!

For your first question, only apply the power to pegs played AFTER the ship has been revealed. For your second question, yes you can repair damage even though there is a shield on the ship. You can repair the ship, just not the shield. :)

thanks for the video, please settle an argument im having with a friend regarding the pt boat special power, if my pt boat has been revealed can i remove a 4x red peg card from one of my ships at the start of the round? thanks!

The PT Boat’s power allows the player to remove one PEG CARD from any ship. It does not matter if the card equals one peg of damage or 4. The card can be removed. :)

Hi, thanks for the video. I have one question regarding the destroyer vs submarine; what happens if I lose my destroyer before i have reviled the opponent submarine (which can be destroyed only with white pegs) ? Does these means i already lost the game 🙂

bro u can just use the white peg no need for any ship to be on ur side even if 0 or all 5 where flipped on ur side

@jkwille9872 White pegs have power to destroy only if the destroyer is revealed and in play, yes? So if I lose my destroyer and afterwords I revealed the submarine, I can't sunk that ship, so basically, I am -1 ship from the opponent and eventually at the end I'm going to lose, yes?

@@tanjamic you dont need the destroyers specialty to do damage to the submarines just use the white pegs on the submarine and not any other ship(if destroyer power is not there)👍
